Forget impeachment, arrest that criminal!
Edited on Thu Jan-11-07 09:06 AM by GliderGuider
Impeachment takes too long, far too long to prevent Bush from causing more bloodletting.
He needs to be arrested. He is criminally insane.

Arrest him. Please.
For all our sakes.

On edit: A significant modification -- Please arrest BOTH Bush and Cheney.
(Thanks, DoYouEverWonder)

10. I wish they could override that decision, and arrest these criminals
things are getting out of hand. We seem to be the only ones who can see what is going on.

2. He's now waging war on two countries (Iran, Somalia)
with no previous public discourse or congressional approval. There has to be something someone can do. He's trying to start the war of all wars.

3. Yes, arrest him for treason.
He took an oath when he became president; everything he's done and is doing has broken that oath. Bush is a terrorist, IMHO; and until he is no longer in power, we are not safe.

4. First K&R Surely the whole country is not helpless...
...to do something about this maniac.

The protocol exists to declare him unfit to stay in office. Who will take action?

I am crazed, depressed, feeling totally ineffectual.

22. Such rumors have circulated for some time.
Imagine being a military officer in a high position, trying to feel out who might support such a move, without facing a firing squad.

I posted in another thread that I'm reading Chris Hedges' book "American Fascists," in which he points out that there has been a quiet insertion of "Christian" wackos into the military and police forces in this country.

And...you're Canadian?

5. The fact that bush is sending extra troops against
the will of the American people, against the advice of generals ---against the advice of an advisory committee HE put together?

When will his actions be deemed treasonous? He needs to be pick up, placed in a straight jacket and dragged off to prison?

9. If he's not impeached before he leaves office
we will go down in history as the worst people for not getting rid of this maniac and his gang of thugs.

14. Bush and Cheney
must be forced to resign. Impeachment will take to long at this point.

Then let the indictments and investigations begin.

19. By law, we have to remove him from office before he can be prosecuted
It seems ridiculous now, since we apparently have some kind of corporate mafia running the US, but I do believe our law prevents us from prosecuting a sitting president through normal channels.

If I understand correctly, President George W. Bush could walk into Wal Mart with an AK-47 and kill 20 people but would not be subject to prosecution.

BTW, I wish this bastard had only killed 20 people, but I digress.

Once he leaves office, either by impeachment or at the end of his term, he could be prosecuted. However, there are some qualifications here as well.

I don't think he can be sued for official acts committed as President, such as blowing up a country's infrastructure or wrongful death suits for all the people killed in our overthrow of Saddam and occupation of Iraq.

I welcome input from any attorney or constitutional scholar on this point, since I'm not sure exactly how it works. I do know it's too damned slow and convoluted for me right now.

I'd like W locked up today where he can't harm any more of us.
