From a primary source: War with Iran is on. Soon. |
|
You all may believe me or not, but I just talked to someone who can credibly say that war with Iran is a done deal, and will begin very, very soon. People were called last night and told to get their stuff together to leave. The speed of the mobilization is amazing.
I was also told that the US has quietly built up along the Iran/Iraq border.
I am now officially freaked out.

just as a reminder, we don't have the capability to put ground forces into Iran, we simply don't have any more.

Major bombing can be done from the ships, which incidentally we have been building up off their cost.
I'm still trying to wrap my brain around it all.

The last time my brother was on a ship in the persian gulf was the first bombing of bagdad. He retired not long after Somalia. He's been re-activated and arrived in the gulf 3 days ago.

Surepticiously initiate conflict with Iran. When Iran retaliates spin it as them starting the conflict. Site Iran's hostilities and nuclear ambitions as cause to initiate the draft (political ramifications stopped this in Iraq but Iran functions as a get out of jail free card for them). This gets the boots they need for Iran.

After the raid of the consulate last night ... I could see it happening. And as stated elsewhere on DU, Bush's speech seemed like a drumming up for a wider war.
The interesting thing, though, is the Kurds. On NPR the reporter said the Kurds weren't told about the consulate raid beforehand and that there was a standoff between Kurdish troops and US troops.
This is going to be beyond ugly.

14. Like technical language that I can't recall off the top of my head? |
|
I wish I had that kind of memory. I was told about specific activities occurring in specific staging areas, both in the US and elsewhere, as well as training that would be occurring. I was also told by this person that the deployment of specific groups from specific places has been catagorized as "undefined," rather than within an 18-month range--apparently this is very unusual.

I heard from a source of mine that we are just going to sell Israel some nukular bunker busters and they are going to take care of this little job for us. See...proxy war...works like a charm. Just let Iran build some nukes and then we get to have all sorts of fun sitting back and letting them kill each other. :sarcasm:
Will you come here and boldly eat crow when the attack doesn't happen...soon?

23. How Soon Is Most Important Piece Of Info. |
|
How soon is Extremely Relevant, and not at all nosy, considering this person obviously gave you a great deal of information to begin with.
How soon could be reduced to categories, such as the season. Spring, Summer, Fall. 2007, 2008?
Are we talking weeks or months? If this is coming in the short, short term, then I am highly suspicious, and concerned that it may be preceded by an attack in the U.S., subsequently pinned upon Iran.
That is why I'd want to know how soon is soon. This would be the most important detail for me. Not the fact we're placing more people in Iraq, or posturing towards Iran. That is already self-evident. An imminent attack would mean so much more.

It will be fascinating to see if internal resistance (congress + citizens + other power-brokers) will go straight to put a kibosh on it by removing his ass from office, or we'll get rolled.

After bushs address last night hinting about Iran a few times , then the attack on the Iranian console last night .
Trouble is and what woories me as a citizen is we don't know what the hell bush has been doing in and around Iran and Iraq . They could have this setup to go and all we would know is what we are allowed to know .
Even if we saw actual footage of the entire area we still could not tell what was going on and this is one scary thing .

28. All this attention on Condi, Pace and Gates testifying before Congress takes the attention off |
|
... what may be going on in the background.
I know of troops that were shipped out of NC to Kuwait a couple of weeks ago, allegedly part of the 'surge' with many to follow.
Obviously the Iraqis and Iranians are watching what is going on at Capitol Hill as the heavy-weights testify as to what we are going to do in Iraq. The perfect time to move quickly to position our troops IF we are going to do Iran.
IF it happens, I expect that Israel is going to carry out the bombing of nuclear sights in Iran. The US will provide support and intelligence. The trips to meet with the Saudis and other Middle East leaders was to alert them and coordinate with them protection of their oil fields from attack.
IF it is going to happen, I think it will be sooner rather than later --especially given the precarious position Bush finds himself in, with lots of scandal fodder about to become public as Congressional Investigations crank up.
