Far out idea. Is there a way to use psychology on Bush to get him off this Iran and world wide war |
|
Edited on Thu Jan-11-07 12:07 PM by dogindia
escalation thing. Fighting him only emboldens him. Ideas for countering this misguided power hungry...beyond neo con guy.

He displays qualities of sociopathic behaviour. Thus others conditions do not serve to motivate him. The only thing that can motivate him to change course is how it affects him personally. Short of personal threats his best course of action remains escalation. Any thing else results in him having to deal with the consequences of his actions. To his understanding there is no advantage to backing down and the world to be gained by forging ahead.
If we want to shift his view then we would have to present a case where he could champion peace and a reduction in troops and at the same time not only save face but be seen as having made the right descision to attack in the first place.

system now is that he is the savior of the Iraqi people and he must stay the course.
And yes only personal gain is a motivator due to his sociopathy. But first you have to figure out what motivates this man.
I am not sure how he could be convinced that deescalation is his idea. And the criticism of him only serves to force him more into his fantasy world.
And right now he is very angry, oppositional and defiant. He not only refuses to withdraw from Iraq, but he is going to escalate the conflict. That will show us I guess. Wonder what he would do if the Dems claim the surge is their idea and they have wanted it all along. :)
Edit for spelling

There is no way to shift his view from the bunker he has dug himself into without a mass scale gaslighting effect being performed by the entire population. We would have to do the Emeperors New Clothes in reverse. Not likely to happen.

3. It'd require a 100% replacement of his "support group." |
|
Edited on Thu Jan-11-07 12:15 PM by TahitiNut
He's surrounded by enablers - a 'managed' narcissistic supply. Anyone not sufficiently enabling is being replaced.
Way back when, the best idea to come forth was "Turn Your Back On Bush." If that'd caught fire, it stood the best chance of precipitating a total meltdown of his psyche. If, for example, Congress were to rise en masse during the SOTU and merely turn their backs on him - or walk out - his fragile hold on 'reality' would fracture and he'd melt down. Never going to happen, sadly.

His support group is just an externalization of his sociopathic tendencies. They tell him what he wants to hear and advise him to continue on with his ways. Or they are replaced.

decompensation. And yes it would involve more public displays of criticism and less than adoring crowds. I think Bush is getting more and more angry, more paranoid, more out of touch with reality.

25. Impeachment and a permanent record of high crimes against the USA. |
|
That should dent his psyche. As for an immediate resolution I would say if he could see a hero status in would peace through negotiation, but that would take a nervous breakdown first then a reconstruction of a man with sensibilities. During the breakdown he could have no access to power.

I doubt if he can be so drastically changed now. Maybe the intervention known as impeachment could get the ball rolling though.
