8. I think the only way we can stop this is to initiate a "VELVET REVOLUTION" of sorts
SHUT DOWN WASHINGTON AND DON"T LEAVE UNTIL THIS INSANITY STOPS! That menas giving up your regular life maybe quiting your job and going to washington and making them STOP. How many of us can actually do this. We need to take a page from the Philipines we need to take a page from other nations that have recently changed the course of history by standing firm and shutting down the machine!

thing - a fellow early 60's radical dropped his sign and stepped on it to keep the wind from blowing it away - as he worked on how he was going to bend over to pick it up. It is a problem (legs that have turned to pure fat and painful joints, so getting back up is a miracle) that I understand.

By the way, why do we march in Boston tonight with temperatures at 11 to 22, rather than last week when temps were near 70 in Boston?

But there was a lot of wit and wisdom in the signs "War is just terrorism with a bigger budget" - etc. I couldn't handle the cold and left early - But it was good to see a couple of hundred kids in Copley Sq in Boston (with a similiar group marching to Park Street, I was told).

But no national media - and of course no mention on the local evening news.

Hundreds around Bay Area protest Iraq war escalation
Matthai Chakko Kuruvila, Chronicle Staff Writer

Thursday, January 11, 2007

(01-11) 19:04 PST SAN FRANCISCO -- San Francisco police shut down Market Street just before 6 p.m. this evening to accommodate hundreds of anti-war protesters planning to embark on a short march.

About 350 demonstrators opposing President Bush's intention to send an additional 21,500 troops to Iraq gathered at Hallidie Plaza near the Powell Street cable car turnaround. The group planned to march down Market to Fourth Street, then one block south to Mission Street, west to Sixth Street, and then back to Market and Hallidie Plaza.

The protest was one of several anti-war demonstrations in the Bay Area this evening.

"My son was in Iraq," said Willy Rivera, 61, a rental car company employee from Oakland. "He doesn't want to go back. I will not allow another president, anyone, to take my son back."

13. I just returned from one where I live
I was a candlelight vigil on a chilly night in a Sacramento Valley town.

There will be more protests. This will snowball until the regime falls.
