Medal of Honor
The second Congressional Medal of Honor for actions in the Iraq War was awarded posthumously to the family of Cpl Jason Dunham, USMC today at the White House.

Not much coverage in the news.

Lest we forget the nameless and faceless heroes in the midst of our fucked up political leadership.

Link from an earlier NPR article briefly tells his story.

1. There was a pic (s) in a much earlier post of Bush with a tear in his one eye,
rolling down his cheek. One eye, didn't wipe his cheek. Speculation as to how the moisture arrived there. Visine??

6. No problem.
But make sure to check before posting in LBN. GD is not as strict, but it's good to consolidate.

Welcome to DU!

Have a  on me.

3. Watch KO tonight
the Col. who is an MSNBC anaylst was furious about this, he was spittin mad; said Bush made it a political photo op by
talking about all the Senators and Congressmen who apparently are for the war....it was very interesting

He said it should have been a very solemn occasion;

Bush with tears running down his ugly mug, what a POS

4. Got that right.
That colonel, Jack Jacobs, is himself a holder of the MOH - from the Nam.

7. I saw this ceremony this morning as it was happening and being
covered by CNN, I think. I started crying. The applause felt really strange and out of place. I cursed Bush and turned the channel when it was over.

I missed the feature on Countdown, but my SO told me that someone said the ceremonies are normally very low-key, whereas this one was a promotional for *.
