I would love to see Condi Rice as the '08 GOP candidate |

Repugs will never nominate a black woman for their candidate, but I almost wish they would. I'd love to see whoever the Democratic candidate is just rip her apart in the debates.

She was incompetent as NSA, and she's equally terrible as SoS. She's another ideologue, an empty suit, about as dim as her boss.
Personally, I hope the Republicans nominate a strong candidate who would, if elected, make a competent US president. Why? Because worst-case scenario the Republican might win and I'm TIRED of being screwed over with boobs and puppets like Reagan and Bush. I hope both parties nominate good candidates - just for the good of the country.

And who would that be? If Reagan is a boob and a puppet, whom would you consider to be a good Repub candidate.
I personally think Condi is a very smart woman, at least based on her accomplishments to date.

What accomplishments? She was NSA on September 11th, and is the only Secretary of State in my memory who doesn't believe in diplomacy. Our reputation in the world is in tatters and she shoe shops. What exact accomplishment are you speaking of?
I don't know who the Republicans have that would be considered competent right now. The current crop being bandied about certainly aren't, but I'm hoping someone crops up on the scene this year. We're in a hell of a mess and it'll be worse in 2008 - I have no doubt the Democrat, whomever it is, will win, but I want an insurance policy in case the country goes batshit crazy again.
