Edited on Fri Jan-12-07 10:01 AM by NI4NI

6. Meanwhile....
Chrysler's chief economist deems global climate change overblown speculation about far-off events and warns against what he thinks are Chicken Little reactions.

GM's economist sees a coming drop in oil prices, re-invigorating the market for big iron gas-guzzlers.

Ford's economist doesn't see any linkage between the cooling housing market and auto sales, and is expecting a near-term interest rate cut by the Fed that'll save her company from bankruptcy.

With the Japanese poised to overrun the Big 3, this is the sort of "advice" they're paying big money to hear. Buh-bye Detroit, it was nice while it lasted.
