1. They HAVE, time and time again |
|
as this country interfered in countries all over this hemisphere, then Vietnam, and then Grenada, and then Iraq.
Why would this time be any different at all?
All they have to do is convince a bunch of frightened conservatives that Iran is some sort of threat to Mom and apple pie.

5. unless Iraq attacked the U.S. it was a "war of choice" no matter... |
|
...what justifications the administration used to sell it. Americans will do just about anything that is advertised properly.

6. Sorry Kentuck, but the majority of Americans knew there were no wmds, no threat. |
|
The facts were all out; I and many other DUers have posts back before bush's bullshit invasion with all those facts.
Why do you think the vast majority of the entire world said hell no to bush's invasion? Even those nations (Australia, UK, Italy, Spain) whose GOVERNMENTS said hell yes, their own citizens said HELL NO.
We knew and the facts were indeed out there.

7. Yes, anyone can be fooled for a short time... |
|
Like Grenada or Gulf War I. However, with wars like Vietnam and the present mess in Iraq, the people eventually turn against it. What's Bush's polls right now? 29%?

12. The majority of Americans -52%- opposed bush's invasion before bush invaded. |
|
The US majority believed bush hadn't made his case.
The rest of the world said hell no to bush's invasion because they knew it was bullshit.
It was a war of choice from the get-go, and the majority of the US and the world knew it.

8. A long-term, expensive, painful war of choice - no. |
|
but we can't seem to get our fill of Grenadas and Panamas - and every time we go to war, we are told it will be a Grenada, or Panama. Then, when we are surprised to find it isn't, we're there and we have to support the troops, so...

9. America exists on a war of choice |
|
We didn't have to expand west(alright, we did, as that is what centers of power do), but we wanted the land. We wouldn't be here today if it wasn't for wars of choice.

17. Only because there's nothing we can do about it |
|
The funny thing is that if it had not happened, we probably don't have the international laws today that would stop it(in theory) from happening. Although obviously as the top dog on the block, we've never let any of the rules we created stop us from doing what we've wanted to do in the last few decades.
