13. more war president
In May 1972 Bush left the Houston Guard base for Alabama. According to Air Force regulations, Bush was supposed to obtain prior authorization before leaving Texas to join a new Guard unit in Alabama. But Bush failed to get the authorization. In requesting a permanent transfer to a nonflying unit in Alabama in 1972, Bush was supposed to sign an acknowledgment that he received relocation counseling. But no such document exists.

He was supposed to receive a certification of satisfactory participation from his unit. But Bush did not. He was supposed to sign and give a letter of resignation to his Texas unit commander.
But Bush did not.

He was supposed to receive discharge orders from the Texas Air National Guard adjutant general.
But Bush did not.He was supposed to receive new assignment orders for the Air Force Reserves. But Bush did not.

On July 30, 1973, Bush, preparing to attend Harvard Business School, signed a statement acknowledging it was his responsibility to find another unit in which to serve out the remaining nine months of his commitment. But Bush never contacted another unit in Massachusetts in which to fulfill his obligation.

15. Gomer Pyle Moment
AMMAN, Jordan, Nov. 30 — President Bush today proclaimed Prime Minister Nuri Kamal al-Maliki “the right guy for Iraq,” and said the two had agreed to speed the turnover of security responsibility from American to Iraqi forces.

But Mr. Bush dismissed a reported decision by an independent bipartisan panel to call for a gradual withdrawal of troops.

11. sleepwalking through history
Bush is dreaming now; sleepwalking through history, like he slept through the execution of Saddam. "War is peace. Freedom is slavery. Ignorance is strength."

19. George W. Bush: Draft Dodger
Get to the point:
Let's knock off the bullshit, let's stop dancing around the subject, let's just call George W. Bush exactly what he is: DRAFT DODGER, MALINGERER, and COWARD.

Look at the facts:
On May 27, 1968, George W. Bush was 12 days away from losing his student draft deferment, at a time when 350 Americans a week were dying in combat. The National Guard, seen by many as the most respectable way to avoid Vietnam, had a huge waiting list -- a year and a half in Texas, over 100,000 men nationwide. Yet Bush and his family friends pulled strings, and the young man was admitted the same day he applied, regardless of any waiting list.

George W. Bush joined the Texas Air National Guard at a time when no one else was getting in. He joined the Guard to avoid the draft. He dodged his duty as a citizen. I served in Vietnam with a lot of other young men whose fathers were not Congressmen. Almost 60,000 of them died. George W. Bush is a coward and a liar. He can kiss my ass.

Conclusion:
George W. Bush used his father's connections to avoid service in Vietnam. He ran away.

22. George McGovern: Get Out of Iraq
George McGovern | January 19, 2007

Mr. President, Sir, when reporter Bob Woodward asked you if you had consulted with your father before ordering our army into Iraq you said, “No, he's not the father you call on a decision like this. I talked to my heavenly Father above.” My question, Mr. President, if God asked you to bombard, invade and occupy Iraq for four years, why did he send an opposite message to the Pope? Did you not know that your father, George Bush, Sr., his Secretary of State James Baker and his National Security Advisor General Scowcroft were all opposed to your invasion? Wouldn't you, our troops, the American people and the Iraqis all be much better off if you had listened to your more experienced elders including your earthly father? Instead of blaming God for the awful catastrophe you have unleashed in Iraq, wouldn't it have been less self-righteous if you had fallen back on the oft-quoted explanation of wrongdoing, “The devil made me do it?”

And Mr. President, how do you enjoy your leisure time, and how can you sleep at night?
