Cutting funds for Iraq vs supporting the troops
Over and over I see stories that the Democratic Congress is treading very carefully around the issue of cutting funding for Iraq because it will be accused of failing to support the troops. Can we remind people that when the troops needed armored humvees and GM offered to double production, the Pentagon turned GM down because it didn't want to spend the money? What about the failure to provide body armor? Didn't anyone ever count the number of combat troops? It's the bean counters in the Pentagon who have failed to support the troops!
