After Kidnapping the Iranians in Arbil the US Commandos Took Down The Iranian Flag
Good god this is just stunning in its provocation. The US is saying they are not Diplomats and the Iranians, Kurds, Iraqis and now the Russians are pissed.

WTF are they thinking? It is time for the Military to say no! I am getting very scared.....

"The individuals who were detained were not carrying diplomatic passports, they had regular passports," spokesman Sean McCormack told reporters.

"This was not an officially accredited diplomatic facility. It was a building that the Iranians were using, occupying, it was Iraqi territory," he said.

Describing the operation, Kurdish witnesses said US soldiers surrounded the building, just 100 meters (yards) from the Kurdistan administration in downtown Arbil, dropped off by helicopters and two Humvee military vehicles.

The commandos threw stun grenades in a show of force.

There were no clashes with security guards but US grenades shattered windows of the two-storey building as troops ordered all those inside to surrender before lowering the Iranian flag and abandoning the premises.

Fuad Hussein, a senior official in the Kurdish presidency, said the regional government, one of the staunchest US allies in the Middle East, had not been given advance warning about the arrest operation.

5. He's stalling for time and trying to pressure the Kurds and Shia to sign away their oil

The long-delayed hydrocarbon law still hasn't been signed. This is Bush's last change to get the Kurds, Shia and Sunnis to ink the concessions agreement that would give the oil multinationals 75-year leases at preferred terms.

This has something to do with that.

3. Flexing their muscle in an attempt to get the Iranians to react
I'm reminded of when I sat on a jury once of a man accused of assault. His defense was the alleged victim provoked him for weeks with words and actions until he felt he was threatened to a point he had to react.

8. This raid was no "mistake", it's part of a deliberate plan to go to war against Iran.
Who authorized it, you ask? Dear Leader and his war partners, of course.

12. that is what is getting to me about this
The Military is actually escalating the war into Iran for the chimp. They must know how many US soldiers will be killed in the ensuing bloodshed? The US Military can not afford to do this. I would think it is time for a rebellion from them.

13. he's cleared many of the dissenters from the leadership
the ones left apparently share his reckless disregard for the lives of the soldiers under their charge. I'm not one who believes generals and commanders should get the same benefit of doubt as the men under their command. They aren't above acting politically in the prosecution of their mission.

11. "If this is a consular ship, where is the ambassador?"
The statement that this was not an "accredited diplomatic facility" reminded me a little too much of this... :scared:
