Pictures from KC Say No to the Surge on Thurs, Jan 11
Edited on Fri Jan-12-07 04:40 PM by proud2Blib
We had several hundred dedicated people come and send the message to Kansas City that we do not support a surge of troops in Iraq. For once, we even had media there.

How to spell SURGE

5. Great Pictures
We had a good turnout in VA where I live and surprise, surprise, our paper covered it as well as tv stations. You can tell the tide is turning when our conservative, disgraceful paper turns out for a Bush protest.

7. Those are beer boxes
The 12 pack size. He painted them white, carved out the letters and put tissue paper behind the cutout areas. Then he put candles in each box. He used candles in glass containers to reduce the flammability of the display.

Isn't it beautiful?

9. That is so cool!
You made me lol when I read beer boxes because we have no shortage of those around here. We will work on a set because we are planning another vigil in two weeks. Thanks so much for the info. Peace and love, Kim

15. Same guy made George

He dresses him up and brings him to all our protests. George used to have a yellow string coming from between his legs (since he is the leaker) until a George lover pulled the string out.

21. Great! Long tradition of anti-war protests there
I am sure you know that.

When I was living there, that was the VVAW hangout.

16. Excellent, thanks for sharing, same here in Palatka Florida
We are a very "red" town and though our protest was small, it was covered in our daily newspaper. You know the tide is turning when little ole Palatka will support us "peaceniks"

25. LOL I don't like hockey anyway
And I have a hard time believing there is much of a fan base here. But you should have seen the way they wined and dined the Penguins folks when they were here.
