I am so happy. I think that the more we invest in Latin America, the better off they will be and by association, we will be. Hopefully this could help curtail some of the immigration problems in the long run.

The Latin American nations are making treaties and trade agreements with each other, NOT US. They are forming coalitions that exclude us.
While George wasted our money and time on the Caspian Basin oil, he carelessly alienated Venezuela, a major oil power in our own hemisphere. Which promptly signed lovely contracts with China and, I believe, Brazil.
You envision fewer Mexicans and Columbians and Peruvians bussing our tables and carrying our garbage to the street, but the reality I expect is reverse migration as our wheat fields whither under global warming, our people will have to choose to flee north or south.
And wasn't it clever of us to close those borders and insist on passports?
