Did anyone catch the J. Lieberman trying to tie 911 to Iran on MTP
this morning? I have been through a very aggravating few days with a Microsux Software Distribution Systems 2.0 (auto update disaster) so I only got around to watching MTP now.

If you watch the video, it occurs shortly after the 39 min. area.

I am not pc savvy (and also have not gotten used to the IE 7.0 update) so here is a part of the transcript from page 5.

SEN. LIEBERMAN:...
With all respect, the other proposals represent the beginning of a retreat, of a defeat. And I think the consequences for the Middle East, which has been so important to our international stability over the years,

(Separated for emphasis by me)

and to the American people, who have been attacked on 9/11 by the same enemy that we’re fighting in Iraq today, supported by a rising Islamist radical super-powered government in Iran, the consequences for us, for—I want to be personal—for my children and grandchildren, I fear will be disastrous. That’s why I want to do everything I can to win in Iraq. And, and, and I think that’s what my, my oath
of office requires me to do.

1. Totally beside the point....

I heard bad things about MS IE7. Do NOT download it, is the consensus I've heard.

Also, set your updater to ask you if you want to install downloads, don't let it happen automatically.

P.S. I think Leiberman's an idiot.

2. I do set it to deny auto updates and yet it gets turned on. It's a
different issue and one that I will post here in the next few days. Those Microsux bastids wiped out all my restore points and Comcast tried to get in on the update and I completely lost control of my computer.

I think the JL thing is more important NOW!

My son downloaded the IE7 one night, and I had to run the system restore after I deleted the update. It was a horrible experience!

Good luck with your computer endeavors!

9. Download Firefox...
keep IE7 around for the very few sites that aren't accessible by Firefox but IE7 is a total piece of crap. It takes over your computer and makes navigating the "internets" too difficult. I heard a lot of people talk about Firefox on DU so I thought I'd give it a try. I'll never go back to IE, never. Oh yeah, I'm about as computer literate as a turnip so if I can do it, anyone can.\

Lieberman? He's gone completely gone over to the dark side. The Bushies promised him something so he's sucking up to them, big time. The people of Connecticut should hang their heads in shame for re-electing the bastard. If he's a Democrat then I'm a raging neo-con.

4. Yes, Hagel did an I am offended after the Joe tried a ROVE
tactic. Hagel did sound reasonable today, but I don't know enough to make any declaration for him.

I actually think the Dems have WAY to much talent to worry about a Republic in 08.

6. Rising Islamist radical super-powered government in Iran...
Be afwaid, be vewy, vewy afwaid... The big scary Islamist boogeymen are coming to get us!

No doubt extremism and Islamic theocracy do and will present some problems and threaten us and our interests in some way. If they manage to control much of the world's oil resources into the future, we could be facing some hard times so we need to try to promote more reasonable, perhaps secular government and maybe even Democracy in the region... However, we can't very well force them to do things our way--indeed, we've tried and are trying to do just that in IRAQ with such great success. It seems they're a pretty independent and stubborn lot and have minds of their own. They have their own culture, traditions, religion and history and they don't really want to be American pawns, servants or clones (can't imagine why not? duh).

Nevertheless, are they, the Islamic extremists--a very small part of Islam, the overwheming threat they're being made out to be? In LIEberman's mind they are, but what about reality?

8. Yes, but the Wahhabi Sunni's and the Iranian Shites are not even
close to one another. Joe knows this I am positive!

It is unconscionable for him to confuse the Wahhabi fundamentalists (responsible for the actual 9/11 terrorist attack OUT OF SAUDI ARABIA not IRAQ OR IRAN) to the fundamentalist Shite Iranian power structure.

He is trying to pull a Rovian tactic pure and simple.
