How far the mighty has fallen...
what a truly sad and pathetic thing CBS "News" has become, I do believe that 60 Minutes especially hit rock bottom last night with Scott Pelley's love fest with Jr. I remember when 60 Minutes prided itself on it's excellent investigative journalism and hard edged news stories. And Katie Couric as their top news anchor is just embarassing. They are no better than Entertainment Tonight as far as I'm concerned.

This, the network of Edward R. Murrow and Walter Cronkite. Very, very sad.

1. I have stopped watching 60 minutes,
Ever since they put Katie on. Her fake serious look really scares me. She is trying to look serious and she looks at the camera from under her brow with her lips pulled tight over her frown. She is just scary looking anymore.

They get that british accent woman to do it too. It is freaking weird.

4. Normally, I'd watch 60 minutes but made a point of missing it
last night. When they brought Katie on, the marketing campaign was way overdone for my taste. Fact is, if you're going to watch the evening news then you're going to watch the evening news! They didn't need to tell us that Katie Couric was going to be the new person in the anchor chair every hour on the hour for three months. :eyes:

And yes, Katie Couric is the reason I DON'T watch. They've invested a lot to have her; I'm not buying.

5. Actually, I though Scott gave * "enough rope to hang himself". Let's face it
* sounded idiotic.

Sctott's questions were reasonable and *'s answers weren.t

'nuff said.

7. I've been waiting for too long for him to hang himself...
the media just needs to go ahead and do it. They legitimize him by not blatantly calling him on his lies and idiocy. They legitimize his Presidency by continuing on with the farce that he is competent enough to remain on the job. I'm just really so tired of it.

8. Walk over to your TV, turn it off, unplug it, then open the nearest window..
pick it up and then throw it out the window.

You will have a period of withdrawal, you will feel anxious, an overwhelming desire to sit and stare for no apparent reason, but over time, these adverse effects will dissipate and you will suddenly realize one day, that you are better informed and less prone to throw things in the area that once occupied your TV.

I have been without a TV since last april, it was the best thing I ever did.

9. The corporate media is NOT our friend.
Thanks to deregulation, nearly all of the media is owned by five (I think) conservatives, all of whom have a stake in supporting this administration, despite it's illegitimacy. They have all LIED to us, lies which have killed over three THOUSAND of our soldiers and perhaps more than ten times that number of innocent foreign citizens. The media is an accomplice in first degree mass murder. Don't let them fool you.
