1. ...for bombing the hell out of their country, killing hundreds of thousands of their family members |
|
& neighbors, locking up their confused neighbors in Abu Gharib & torturing them, taking away their electricity & water, & putting them through hell.
Wouldn't you be as grateful if you were in their shoes?

4. If America were invaded by a foreign army who couldn't even speak our language |
|
and did to us only what US forces do to the people of Iraq. why we'd all be ever so GRATEFUL!
The rightwingnut freeping Republics would be licking those invaders' boots, so fulla GRATITUDE.
We libruls of course would be total traitors and labelled terrorists.

2. They should thank us for |
|
.... destroying their nation, gunning down women and children as they go grocery shopping, turning it into a thousand mile morgue, unleashing contamination in their ground water, plundering their resources, making their citizens live in fear of their lives, exposing babies to hostile fire, gunning down passengers in random vehicles, torture, rape, murder, genocide . . .
Yeah, Iraq is just one big happy fucking FUNLAND!
The simian, in this life or the next, will pay a hefty price for his dickishness. I would really like to believe he will.

We showed up uninvited and unprovoked and created hell where purgatory had existed before and now we whine about the Iragis not taking more responsibility for cleaning it up and putting it all back together AND becoming a functioning democracy all at the same time. Obviously we can't fix it but that doesn't mean that they can.

8. My worst fear is that they will express their "gratitude" by responding in kind some day. |
|
With all the people we've killed over there, it will be a miracle (helped by geography, psychology, and economics) if some Iraqi one day doesn't "return the favor" in a shocking and awful way.

10. I'm still waiting for a Dem - any Dem - to step up |
|
and point out the obvious. That this talking point is beyond absurd.
If someone invades my home, harms my family, destroys my property - no way am I going to be "grateful." I'm going to be pissed. I'm going to fight back. I'm going to do whatever's necessary to get the criminals out. Why should the Iraqis be any different?
