One of my favorite commenters ever, the prolific citizen-contributer who goes by the handle 'anon', flattened the competition when it came to the contest to re-name the bins and tables at airport screening portals. From an article about the proposal to go nationwide with LAX's innovative selling of ads in screening bins, we learned that: 1) screening bins are technically known as "divestiture bins" 2) the tables where you take off your belt are called "divestiture tables" and 3) the tables where you race to put on your belt and re-situate your laptop and dance to get your shoes back without falling over or pissing off other travellers are called "composure tables."



Anon trumped my suggestions with the following names: Patriot Bins, Freedom Tables, and National Homeland Defense Counter-Terrorism Victory Station, respectively. 27B administrators, as proud members of the Information Dispersal team, have filed the appropriate forms in triplicate to have Anon awarded a Certificate of Proper Thinking by our overlords at the Ministry of Citizen Education.
