Michelle Malkin is in Iraq, reporting all the good news that the media refuses to report!
...I have been in Iraq, embedded with an incredibly dedicated Army unit in Baghdad tasked with training Iraqi security forces (both Shia and Sunni) conducting counterinsurgency operations, and carrying out civil affairs work. Yes, there is danger and chaos and unspeakable bloodshed in parts of Baghdad. Sectarian violence--compounded by everyday street crime and tribal conflict--is rampant. Corruption, incompetence, and apathy infect the Iraqi government. You've gotten endless news coverage of all that. But there are also pockets of success and signs of hope amid utter despair....

21. Don't apologize.. We should be laughing them all right out of
business. The Cons and all their puppets deserve nothing but to be laughed at for their pathetic ramblings. Every time McCaine or Lieberman opens their mouths they should be greeted with gales of laughter.

7. I usually don't wish harm on anyone.
But I certainly hope that this monster has a close encounter with these rare pockets of negativity that 'the media' is obsessed with.

By the way, if she is reporting this on MSNBC then she would in fact be 'the media' that doesn't report the good news. What a conundrum.

20. "Conundrum"... spelled 'Ar Ay Cee Kay Ee Tee." Noun, meaning a misdirection devised to obtain money.
She bitches about how unfair they are until they hire her to shut her up. A fun conservative pastime, apparently.

9. Smiling Iraqi children
The pictures that accompany her article depict smiling Iraqi children gathered around a truck delivering water. The caption: "Iraqi children in a western Baghdad homeless encampment welcome American troops"

What the inquiring mind might want to know:

WHY are these children homeless in the first place?

What has happened to city utility services?

14. Those homeless children are also offering their bodies to our troops to make money.
This is something that "The Great Performing Seal" Malkin will not acknowledge, nor will the corporate media.

Homelessness and poverty are the perfect breeding ground for juvenile prostitution. It happens everywhere in the world. But in Iraq, it's another shining example of bush's "legacy."

15. Pockets and signs?
After three years and billions of dollars, a reporter finds "...pockets of success and signs of hope..."?

And that's supposed to be good news? No, that's not good news at all. Good news would be finding just a few pockets of despair amid many signs of competence.

Good news would be submerging chaos flooded by a great deal of national hope.

This is not good news at all. I was hoping for better than this after three long years.

We need to bring our warriors home... the patriots over there, protecting their own homelands, we shall never beat. All we can do is increase the chaos. We have proved to be good at that, eh?

31. "...pockets of success..." So the 3,020+ dead GIs and the $350+ billion spent was worth it!
Not to mention the hundreds of thousands of innocent Iraqi civilians killed in this fiasco.

"Pockets of success" -- now THAT's something that you can really hang on to and use to justify all this carnage! :sarcasm: :sarcasm: :sarcasm: :sarcasm: :sarcasm: :sarcasm: :sarcasm: :sarcasm: :sarcasm::sarcasm: :sarcasm: :sarcasm:

Not that it means anything, but my idea of a "pocket of success" is finding a $5 dollar bill in my pants *before* I wash them. :(
