How much longer will CNN allow Glenn Beck to say racial slurs on his show
This on Martin Luther King day:

"What happened to the Duke lacrosse team was practically a lynching without the rope. And for the first time in my life, Mr. Oreo Cookie without the chocolate on the outside can understand why people celebrated when O.J. Simpson was acquitted."

1. beck is just sickening. I am astounded that any cable network- outside of faux news- allows him on.
Just astounded.

2. wow
I haven't watched CNN since 2001, but it sounds like that network has really jumped the shark in a bad way.

3. His role at CNN is EXPANDING this year
Fact. He will be doing quarterly "specials" as well as his own show. :eyes:

4. That's not so much racist as incoherent
"Mr. Oreo cookie without the chocolate on the outside?" Man, that guy's metaphor-generator has a bent rod or something. He should just rip off Jon Stewart and refer to himself as Whitey McWhiterson.

8. He does tap dance around the edges of racism, tho.
His framework, the word choices he makes here, show he thinks in harsh racial terms. It's not a healthy mind that they've given hundreds of tv broadcast hours to. It's appalling to me (nausiating is a little too strong) because he's giving the rest of society the green light to interpret events in strictly racist terms too.

5. I find that guy utterly nauseating. He can't be gone soon enough.
In all senses of the word "gone," too. Ugh. :puke:

6. For the first time, right wing nuts understand why civil rights are important.

Not until the LAX case did it occur to them that civil rights were important--that they are for over-privileged white people too.

Ah, the stupidity.

9. AIN'T THAT THE TRUTH, LEX?
it's another reason I despise conservatives - they only care WHEN IT HAPPENS TO THEM. They have a complete inability to empathize if THEY are not affected,

10. The choice of Glenn Beck to host a show on CNN was brilliant.
He's a spot-on representation of a desirable demographic: a dumbass, pudgy-faced white boy who knows how to talk in a dishonest way around the edges of deep-seated fears. I'm only surprised he's not wearing a baseball cap backwards on his fat head. I expect he'll get lots more airtime in the future.

11. Remember the Clarence Thomas hearings?
He referred to his detractors objections as a
"high tech lynching". OMG, I must restrain myself
from using the N-word in reference to him. :grr:

17. Read No Further...We Have A Winner
I thought Dreck would fade away after his first set of ratings came out, but it appears CNN has turned their Headline News into a Faux Semi-Lite with Dreck and Nancy Nostrils to lure away the freepers and other bipods who watch O'Reilly and Hannity on Faux.

This network is set to low expectations and from the antics of both Grace and Beck, low standards as well.

18. Shame on CNN
But I haven't watched CNN since the election (they helped smear Kerry) and I have only seen examples of Glenn Beck's ignorance on progressive talk radio.
