Gates: Why, Yes, We are Insane... |
|
Great little article on Gates' fraudean slip and Iran:
January 15, 2007 Gates to Reporters: Why yes, we are insane, why do you ask?
Clearly feeling relaxed in his new role as DefSec, Gates blurts out the real reason for le surge: Iran. Not that this plan's real objective should come to a surprise to anyone paying attention over the past year, but the declaration should be lighting a fire under the collective Congressional arse. Gates told reporters that:
"Increased US military activity in the Gulf is aimed at Iran's "very negative" behaviour, the Bush administration said today.
The defence secretary, Robert Gates, told reporters that the decision to deploy a Patriot missile battalion and a second aircraft carrier to the Gulf in conjunction with a "surge" of troops in Iraq was designed to show Iran that the US was not "overcommitted" in Iraq."
No the US is not over-committed if you believe that the US consists of the Bush administration. Our military, however, is incredibly over committed and Dick Cheney should be committed.

7. Bush will stick with him until the bitter end..... |
|
he's finished "accepting resignations" (firing people) from his cronies for the balance of his Presidency. Bush has just gone "all in", in poker parlance, betting his entire mountain of "political capital" he won in his '04 "landslide" victory. He's riding this all the way to the end. Gates is the last old crony he can dig out of the closet. He has nothing left. It's Gates all the way, even after Bush has lost everything betting on his doomed "surge".
