Colbert Gets D'Souza to Say He Agrees with the Terrorists!
Colbert is a maestro at work. He destroys D'Souza by agreeing with him, and forcing him to take his arguments to their logical conclusion.

See video clip here:

http://www.politicstv.com/blog/?p=1454

Under the link: "More D'Souza -- You got to check this out"

Everybody needs to see this.

Colbert deserves major:

:applause: :applause: :applause:

3. I watched Colbert last night...
I almost turned it off when I heard who the guest was, and then I decided it would be fun to watch. And Colbert REALLY nailed him. It was hilarious.

9. Colbert goofs on people
I've only known a couple of people IRL who are as good at it as he is. The goofee always thinks he's in a safe place and talking to a sympathetic person who agrees with him. The goofer cam generally manipulate him into saying some pretty outlandish things.

It's probably too subtle for a lot of people out there who just don't get it, but Colbert is such a master of the form that he's always wonderful to watch in action.

I'll still bet there are a lot of people who were at that White House media dinner who don't realize how scathingly they were insulted.

I'm just glad he's on our side for now.

(I can do it when I'm terribly bored, but I'm nowhere near doing the masterful job Colbert does)

23. I doubt if D'Souza thought he was with a sympathetic person who agreed with him.
He may be a lot of things but he's not a total imbecile, just an ideologue. I'm sure he knows what Colbert's shtick is all about, he just wanted to sell his book so came on the show anyway, and got burned, LOL.

21. He gave it a try, and bombed bigtime.
Rush had his own TV show for a very short while. The audience wasn't as docile as his "dittohead" listeners, and it died quickly. I've only seen him on a late night show once and he couldn't handle people in the audience hissing.

11. republicons are all but terrorists themselves, anyway
Edited on Wed Jan-17-07 12:28 PM by SpiralHawk
The terra I feel when I see them giving Tax Breaks to the wealthy, trashing science so their corporate cronies can continue to rape and plunder the planet at the expense of everyone, and starting phony wars to increase oil & munitiions profits for their corrupt cabal of cronies.

Why do republicons hate America?

So D'Souza is just confirming the ugly facts of the matter about shameful republicon traitory.

What a joke he -- and his so-called 'ideas' -- are.

Is this the best the republicons can do in the way of 'intellectuals."

Pathetic.

12. So what we have here is a guy who is too stupid to know
Colbert was going to hand him his ass or so desperate to sell his book that he'll go on a show knowingly he's going to look like a fool. I wonder if he came out of that thinking "well that went pretty well"

14. I'll watch it tonight
Colbert is so funny.

My brother gave me Amy Sedaris' "cookbook" for Christmas, and there is a shrimp recipe from Colbert. Her book is really funny, by the way. I'm making "Chicken of the Taverns" for dinner tonight, so I'll see how good her recipes are.

16. That should be played far more than
the Dem who was jokingly claiming (in the face of an obvious spoof) that he did cocaine ... where he had obviously made a joke, yet all the Reichwingers managed to only show the part where he "admitted it" ...

27. That was hilarious!
SC: "Hollywood is depraved or not? Are you pro-Hollywood or anti-Hollywood?"

D D'S: "I have mixed feelings about Hollywood."

SC: "Oh, that's not gonna sell books."

SC: "What should we be sending them? (People overseas.) Because I'm afraid they're seeing, like, The Goonies. And I'm pretty sure that's responsible for the Cole attack."

I love Colbert's idea of sending programs featuring the Truckosaurus overseas, too!

Later--
D D'S: "Very often the only America the Muslims see is Blue America. They see the America of gay marriage, they see the America of people eating maggots...."

SC: "Why do gay people love maggots, sir? -- is my question for you."

D D'S: "I wasn't putting--"

SC: "I've never been to a gay wedding, but I assume it's on the buffet."

Then--
SC: "There certainly are real Americans like you and me, and there are liberal Americans, who don't deserve our protection or our liberties."

And the complete unraveling--
SC: "Finally, someone has the courage to say there are things the liberals are doing that are causing our destruction."

D D'S: "No, that's going too far."
