This Administration is seemingly capable of anything.. but
Edited on Wed Jan-17-07 06:08 PM by Ahpook
I wonder why they never placed some illegal weapons to be found in Iraq? It would certainly hinder our arguments of why we are there, at least for a moment or two. Plus give dumbfuck America another talking point.

I think, initially, they hoped to find some they sold to Saddam back in the 80's, but as we all know....

Is this technically to hard to pull off?

They don't really care... arrogance?

Any insight?

3. "Why they never placed some illegal weapons
to be found in Iraq?"

I think bushco tried to do just that - plant WMDs in Iraq to be *FOUND* by our soldiers and justify this stinking war!

I think this was why Brewster-Jennings, Valerie Plame's front company, was outed and exposed as US undercover agents to the world.....to intimidate these operatives into remaining quiet.

I think Brewster-Jennings was supposed to procure the WMDs, parts and machinery to plant in Iraq, but maybe they refused.

So, as payback, the crew at Brewster-Jennings was exposed.

4. Well. . .. .
Nuclear material is tricky, apparently because it has markers that make it easily "traceable"

How-some-ever-- There are many people convinced that they tried to, and that Judith Miller was given a heads up so she could "cover the discovery".. but that Brewster-Jennings (remember? Valerie Plame's outfit? That was their job- to track contraband nuclear material in and around Pakistan) may have been close enough to the information to make it too hard to "pull off".

There were reports around the same time about mysterious movement of shipments over and around the Pakistani border that were never fully investigated that may have been part of such an attempt.

Back in the DU archives are many many threads about this.

8. Will this story ever get the attention that is needed?
There seems to be much more to the Valerie Plame story than is making headlines. We can hope that the Libby trial will open that door to what her job truly was and Brewster Jennings. It does not make sense they (bushies) would "out" a covert agent having to do with WMD's unless they had something to hide???
