I saw that the 9/11 recommendations bill passed 299-128. The 128 is all republican from what I've seen. Why in the world would anyone and especially the republicans as a party vote against it? Won't it make for devastating ads against them? Are they so partisan that they vote against it because Democrats brought it up? It's just bizarre.

With the exception of the port of debarkation inspections, most of whats in it is labor-intensive. The GOP detests giving people federal jobs. (Unless it's a high-paid crony who can help gut the Constitution.)
