One of the mistakes of the '00 Gore campaign was the idea that Gore shouldn't be seen with Clinton even though we were in an age of relative peace and prosperity and Clinton's approval ratings were double what the chimps are today. (That's also how we got Lieberman on the ticket because he was seen as the opposite of Clinton on moral grounds).

Do you think the GOP nominee will want to be seen on the trail with the Chimp?

I know we had a president named George, but wasn't that a really long time ago? Bush? Hmmm.... Name doesn't ring a bell...

3. No
Which brings up an interesting thought. Would a Republican candidate want to run having to defend -- or just being assciated with -- Bush's record in any way? Or would he rather take his chances running against President Pelosi?

If I were a Republican who wanted to be president, I think I'd pick the latter.

4. Mittens Romney might do it to rally the base
while the moderates aren't looking. His main selling point is that he is a BushBot.
He'll keep his distance when he tries to win over the moderates. Romney likes
to straddle the fence.

5. Can't imagine that any of them would.
Might be a moot point anyhoo . . . Chimpy's public performances continue to show him as an ashen-faced, frightened, mental patient. His slip is showin'. Another year, and they won't even let him outta the house.
