What troubles me the most

When I sit back and try to focus on reality which as you know is a difficult thing to find these days .

What I see that completely blows my mind is all the politicians sitting in the comfort of their offices or congress or the senate with their plans to stop this Iraq horror . They give their time to the news shows and all the while someone is at that very instant being killed or shredded .

As if the answer was hidden in the center of the earth . This reminds me of sitting freezing while someone with half a brain with an agenda figures out whether I need a blanket or a heat pump and where they will find either one .

1. Yeah, they're completely out of touch.

One of the reasons I like this board so much, is that there is so much input from all kinds of people with different backgrounds. I don't think the politicians get that at all in their insulated worlds.

It is surreal that the majority of them cannot comprehend the reality of women and children and students and elderly people being blown to bits. All for the control of oil. If they realy grasped that reality, we'd see them act with some urgency to stop this madness immediately . . .

3. It reminds me of Kennedy

During the cuban missile crisis JFK was on the job and took no time off . Here we have a congress and senate while there is a crisi in the middle east working 4 days a week and relaxing while the killing continues and they go full out and proud with their first 100 hours .

Certainly they need to show they have things in order but I feel their priorities are out of order .

When a forrest fire rages on firefighters are none stop .

11. Surreal is exactly what this is .

It's surreal in slow motion mode . I'm certain it is surreal in Iraq .

The shock and awe was surreal and this continues to grow but they don't call it shock and awe anylonger , now they call it whatever fits well in a news blip .

I am amazed when Hillary or Kerry and others visit Iraq that they come back seemingly calm , I would come back a traumatized for life . Kerry may be used to this but Hillary , I can't imagine that unless they visit the somewhat safe areas if there are any .

I never dreamed we would be sitting here in this surreal fix yet here we are .

This is urgent for the people of this country and urgent for the troops and the Iraqis but a political game in DC .

Politicians are too stymied by their party ideology to actually deal with real issues. The problem with ideology is that most of the time it doesn't apply to those trying to get through life and, worse, those who preach their party ideology don't follow it in their own lives. The only way for them to take seriously when someone dies in Iraq is if someone in their own family were actually over there.
