Why did the MSM ignore these recent church burnings?

I couldn't even get a discussion sustained here on DU concerning the recent torching of historic black churches in Maryland. Why? Why all the media coverage of the Alabama burnings and not those in MD? Why the several discussions of the former here on DU yet so little interest in the blatant hate crimes happening just outside D.C.?

I have posted links to both the original thread and the update. At the same time these historic black churches were bring torched, synagogues in the same MD county were also being attacked. Where was the MSM then, my friends?

2. No culprit as yet

The problem with a lot of the church burnings that were happening some time ago was that they weren't hate crimes. Some of them were insurance crimes.

The same may be true of these fires, although insurance fires often are more competently set. This seems like the work of some two bit crazy. However, if he's black, gay, or a member of any other officially despised group, brace yourself for a six month media blitz.

Okay, now you've piqued my curiosity as to why DUers are moved to discuss only what the Corporate Media is promoting as "news." Shows just how pervasive that influence can be when even this forum focuses on issues based coverage, not just importance.

Wish I had some enlightening answers to that question.
