53% Say Iran War Somewhat or Very Likely
Fifty-three percent (53%) of Likely Voters believe it is somewhat or very likely that the United States will be in a war with Iran within a year. A Rasmussen Reports national survey found that 30% believe war with Iran is not very likely while just 6% say it is not at all likely.

Forty-eight percent (48%) of Republicans say war with Iran is at least somewhat likely. That view is shared by 59% of Democrats and 49% of those not affiliated with either major party.

Younger voters are more likely than their elders to believe War with Iran is likely. Those who support the President are less likely to see a war with Iran in our immediate future. However, even among those who strongly approve of the President's Job Performance, 42% say war is at least somewhat likely.

Following the State-of-the-Union Address, 60% of voters support the President's plans to prevent Iran from acquiring nuclear weapons. That includes support from 80% of Republicans and 47% of Democrats.

2. Wow, it's amazing that Repugs think war is less likely than Dems!
Probably because the Repugs are thinking "Jeeze, not another screwed up war I will have to psyche myself into supporting," and the Dems are thinking "Yep, Bush will fuck up again, no doubt about it."

13. Attacking Iran will at least wake up a LOT of Americans, coz
it'll be a LOT of AMERICANS who'll feel the pain.

The Forgotten War (Afghanistan) and Iraq are easy for Americans to ignore; unless your loved one is dead/dying for bush's lies one can simply forget all about the 100,000s innocent men, women & kids killed in our names. Most Americans don't have any idea how many US troops are dead, let alone how many are maimed & destroyed for life. Nor do most Americans care, apparently.

But an attack on Iran will result in 100,000s dead American troops (at the very least), and that's a number big enough to be felt by Americans.

Dear World;

Stop the appeasement.

Please.

14. Iran is going to give us a hard lesson
Edited on Mon Feb-06-06 11:54 AM by tatertop
Those good people are used to hardship.
The Iraq-Iran war just ended in 1988.
Perhaps as many as 2 million casualties.
Among the many gruesome aspects
of that war were the thousands of unarmed children sent out in human waves to clear minefields.

We cry if our power goes out for a day.
They will endure the first six months
following the invasion without a second thought.
After the first six months we will be totally
demoralized; shocked and awed
by the little country that fought back.

What China and Russia and Iraq and Venezuela will do no one knows. Just a light tap of the finger at just the right time
could send us over the edge.

After the invasion, to concede with the one year anniversary of the election of the Terrorist and Freedom hater Mr. Mahmoud Ahmadinejad .

Initial War 17 June to 5 July 06
Iran casualties - 27,500
US/Coalition casualties - 319

5 July 06 to 17 June 2007
Iran - 18,900
US/Coalition - 2250

To figure out further US death+injuries Just follow this simple rule 5KIA per day and 15 WIA per day due to the larger country size of Eye-Ran and terrible Terrain for the next 5 to 8 years.

Timeline:
15 June 2006, 48 hour ultimatum to President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad
17 June 2006, Democracy is on the March on Iran!
4 July 2006, Shrub lands on Carrier USS Ronnie Raygun in the Strait of Hormuz and announces Mission Accomplished

I really didn't think many Americans could be stupid enough to swallow the exact same propagandic BULLSHIT twice in a row, even rightwingnuts, especially after the total FUBAR of Iraq.

Yeah they are stupid enough.

Fucking unbelievable.

10. Exact same shit; "greatest threat", "greatest supporter of terrorists"...
And I just LOVE bush's current oft-spewed LIE that Iran's prez is a "dictator". (He was ELECTED, bush; get a dictionary and look it up, ya stupid MFer.)

"greatest threat"?

Bullshit.

"greatest supporter of terrorists"?
Bullshit.

WHO ATTACKED US on 911? SAUDI.

Next we'll hear all about the several US gov reports from the early 1990s that all say IRAN gassed the Kurds, and the FACT of how IRAN started the Iran-Iraq war.

Then we'll hear about Iran's "mass graves". Et-fucking-cetera.

Iran is LEGALLY ENTITLED to persue nuclear technology. And that's a FACT. Funny how that fact never gets mentioned in the US "msm".
