Notice the unusually high number of Democrats winning Republican safe seats in state legislatures? Well it just happened again, so congrats to Missouri DUer's. The Democratic Revolution is coming Democrats win seats in special elections
By DAVID CASTILLO
JEFFERSON CITY — Missouri Democrats scored a surprise win in a Republican stronghold in special elections held Tuesday.
There were three races, two in the St. Louis area and one in southwest Missouri.
Democrat Michael Frame edged out Republican Ed Groom, with 45 percent of the vote in the 105th District, which covers parts of Jefferson, Franklin and St. Louis counties.
In the state’s 93rd District, which covers southwest St. Louis County, Republican Dwight Scharnhorst beat Democrat Genevieve Frank with 51 percent of the vote.
It was the race in the 132nd District, however, that surprised both parties. Democrat Charles Dake defeated Eric Seifried with almost 56 percent of the vote in a district that is considered a Republican stronghold. Dake’s victory indicates a change in the political tide around the state, House Minority Leader Jeff Harris, D-Columbia said

the hornet's nest.
Really nice guy in person too.

3. we will see how this extrapolates to the national level |
|
However, I cannot underestimate the stupidity of the American public
Just look at 2000 and 2004, and frankly our current congressional democrats have done very little to further our cause
The uncertainty of the voting system is still in doubt, and very little has been done to remedy it

i see the public becoming aware. i see a lot of ground made. then we are thrown into the blog world and this board and the media and repugs and learn how much nothing is happening with the dems. as a matter of fact, .... they shot their foot and are out of combat. they keep telling us we are spineless, yet ... i see so many standing tall. they say we are confused. as i see the dem plan so clearly. for the simplest of minds. we say. we say we want our dems to speak out,..... yet we dont stand behind them, instead we bash them absolutely telling them they had better stfu
but cool. and more and more and more to come.
i just see it so differently. whiners may make it happen. but cool our dems aren't listening to be losers and spineless. good for them. makes me admire and support them more.

7. Some info about the 132 district election |
|
This is a district that went 70% + for Bush in 2004. The Republican candidate had over 3x the money in his campaign than the Democrat. The voter turnout was only around 20%.
This seat is up again this November, when we can expect a higher turnout.

8. Doesn't sound auspicious -- 20% turnout probably a fluke -- R won in StL |
