Shoe bombs design and manufacturing |
|
It just occurred to me that at one time I was a shoe repairman. I became a shoe repair man one Saturday morning while nursing a terrible hangover. I had stopped in the shoe repair shop to have a coffee with Mr. Guzzetta. I had known Mr. Guzzetta since I was a poor little boy with a hurting soul and flapping shoe soles. I stopped in his shop. He sewed the soles back on my shoes AND he put on new heels AND he shined my shoes. When I pushed my few coins across the counter he say; "You keep-a the money Eddie," Mr. Guzzetta became my friend for life.
So on that Saturday morning Mr. Guzzetta said; "I'm-a close-a the shop Eddie." Oh no. So I bought the shop. And Mr. Guzzetta he teach-a me to fix shoes. (My real job was as a research assistant at a nearby university.)
Also at one time I was a bomb disposal expert in the Navy.
So I wonder. How would I make a shoe bomb? Simple I think I would like after I got my cowboy boots on I would stuff them with 'Shimose'. Then I would use a non-electric blasting cap with a foot or so of black powder time fuze sticking out of the top of the boot. Nobody would ever notice this I am pretty sure. Nor would they catch this odor of the Shimose.
Ain't that Right Mr. Jim Guzzetta? My old friend.

Has an odor not unlike some explosives truth to tell. Tyleno/Tetrytol I think it is.

should say toluene not tyleno.
Strong odor is toluene and common.

4. Shimose is WW2 Japanese explosive |
|
Picric Acid. With age it liquefies into sort of a sludge.
In the EOD community Shimose became likened unto shit.
I feel a cowboy boot full of shit as being fitting to the shoe bomb/LA story.
That is all.
