Three Slam-Dunk Impeachable Scandals -- Where's the Outrage????
1. NSA Wiretapping
2. Valerie Plame
3. Iraq Pre-War Intelligence

If this were any other President and any other Administration, any one of these taken alone would give rise to headline after headline, approval ratings in the 20s (at best), and a stampede in Congress to see who could be the first to investigate. Instead, the Chimp is hanging on with approval ratings in the high 30s/low 40s, always has someone defending him on every news show, article, etc., and is generally considered "battered and weakened," but not completely disgraced. I know this is stating the obvious, but where is the outrage?????

And apologies to those who will no doubt remind me that I've failed to talk about Katrina, the Medicare prescription plan, the tax cuts, etc. Those are certainly morally reprehensible, and criminal from a moral point-of-view, but I wanted to mention the tree scandals that are truly "high crimes" -- i.e., those that can and will result in people (the only question is which ones) in jail.

1. I think most of us
are just fatigued. It's become situation normal for this administration, and that's dangerous.

2. I don't know, lying to Congress about the cost of the Medicaid bill
seems like an impeachable offense.

Fixing an election or 2 is an outrage. Don't forget, if bush is impeached, we aren't even removing an elected president.

With the new revelations about Katrina, gross criminal negligence comes to mind...

I say at this stage we should be more inclusive than exclusive as to possible charges. I do think your list needs to be included and is probably more along the lines of what would actually be charged, if we were at that point yet.

7. This really pisses me off.
The bastard has committed egregious offenses, has screwed and gutted the country and continues to do so, and the reaction is "eh". WHAT THE FUCK DO WE HAVE TO DO TO GET HIM AND HIS ADMINISTRATION OUT OF THERE?

Scuse me for screaming, but I am really, really pissed.
:mad: :nuke: :banghead::grr:

3. Now if Valerie Plame had given Shrub a BJ in the Oval Office-
you might get some satisfaction. It seems the moral police only rise up for certain subjects. Lying and Killing must be Ok as long as there is no extramarital sex. :sarcasm:

4. The outrage has been held in check by a complacent media
The "liberal bastion" New York Times being a MAJOR offender having withheld the news of domestic spying well before Nov 2004 . . .

8. You are right....The media has lost all rights to be the fourth...
unofficial branch for checks and balances.

So I have been wanting to ask this question for awhile and get your thoughts...

The media has failed American due to mega-companies, mergers etc....most of the major media is owned by 2 or 3 owners across the country.

How does America penalize them for their participation in aiding the propaganda of this administration?

A couple of things come to mind...When the Dems get back into legislation power
1. Incorporate Regulation-Such as they did during Ma Bell
This will insure that we will not have our current situation occur again. The media hiding facts from the American public.

I am sure everyone has more ideas but this is at the top of my list...

5. Some outrage is here.
I want some one to answer to why the second part of the 9-11 investigation has not occurred. I could go on with other issues, but what is the deal?

6. Most Americans are complacent...
unless a situation affects them on a personal level. They seem to feel that nothing can be done about anything so they shrug and move on with their daily lives.

9. It has to be drummed up and the way for this to occur
is:

A) A responsible media that speaks truth to power rahter than the corporate media that is firmly entrenched and IS empire; Will NEVER happen once we understand clearly MSM does its job well by muting such issues of import.

B) Courageous AND powerful opposition leaders who will speak ardently, repeatedly and unabashedly on this (these) issue(s). None have arisen and I'm not holding my breath.

C) An extraordinary mass movement that has stamina and can coalesce on this issue (Impeachment).

How to force the issue is a big and difficult question.

Why the major players on the other side of the aisle aren't pounding on impeachment proceedings is cause for alarm. And it has nothing to do with the obvious "The Repugs have the majority".
