Lessee, on NPR's Morning Edition...
... this morning, there were twelve set-up stories, on gas prices, Abizaid on Iraq, on the stock market, on the commodities market, on Republicans dissing the Bushies on Katrina, on critics dissing Steve Martin's "Pink Panther," and the box office receipts for the weekend, but nothing on Cheney's excellent hunting adventure. The thirteenth set was the detail on Abizaid's statement that Iraqi forces would be ready to take over soon (shades of Vietnam, anyone?).

But, Cheney's little hunting misadventure is not in the morning news, thus far.

1. NPR has seriously degraded of late.
Mr Tomlinson did his work all too well, I fear.

2. It was all over the teevee news
last night and this morning. So I don't think it will go unnoticed.

3. 14th...
... Michelle Kwan, and Olympics. 15th, the Westminster dog show, 16th, snowstorm in NY. 17th, repeat of Repugs and Katrina. 18th, 20 seconds on Cheney and hunting accident, mention of Whittington's daughter describing "welts on father's face."

Ah, well. You're right, it was all over the news. :)

4. NPR had a brief mention somewhere between 6 and 7 am, EST.
Edited on Mon Feb-13-06 08:35 AM by Tesha
They noted that the story appeared in the local paper, but
"for some reason", AP didn't pick it up.

I laughed out loud at that stunning display of NPR's
(choose one) 1) naivety 2) attempt to help the AP
cover up the AP's obvious partisanship in an attempt
to suppress/contain the story.

5. Yes, at about 6:40...
... repeating the word, "sprayed" with shot, and a brief mention of Whittington's daughter's description of "welts" on his face.

A report, such as it was, all fifteen-twenty seconds of it. No mention of intensive care or a helicopter flight out of Kerrville to Corpus, which I find a bit odd.

Cheers.

6. Mentioned again at 8am
the victim was hit with birdshot and taken to a hospital in Corpus Christi. He's in stable condition with injuries to his face, neck, and chest.

7. Turn off National Propeganda Radio
Get your news from trustworthy sources. Your blood will boil at the perpetrators rather than their media whores.
