Bush Media Machine Up to Old Tricks
Edited on Mon Feb-13-06 09:00 AM by demdiva
Listen, I'm not a conspiracy theorist, and I don't think VP Cheney shot his friend on purpose or anything. But the Bush administration has been a little to slick in their timing of press releases in this young week to believe it was just a coincidence. It may be good-old-fashioned media maneuvering, but I think they're hoping we won't notice a couple important pieces of un-flattering news.

This weekend, the White House waited almost an entire day to the release news that Vice President Cheney accidentally shot a friend while hunting in Texas -- AFTER the Sunday morning talk shows and THE SAME DAY that Bush actually admits that a New York Times/Time photo of him and Abramoff is real (they said previously that they had no record he had attended this meeting.) They had to know this bizarro news would push out talk of the Abramoff photo. http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/11310507/

Then today, FEMA announces they are making "wide-ranging" reforms, the SAME DAY that they stop paying for hotel rooms for Katrina victims, some of which have not yet received benefits.

Stay tuned to see what they'll come up with this Wednesday . . .

1. My theory is that they think if they can create enough scandals
we won't be able to focus on any one of them long enough to get them in trouble.

4. That certainly has been their MO to this point,
hasn't it? Just keep piling on outrage after outrage.

If ya can't dazzle 'em with brilliance, baffle 'em with bullshit, I guess.

6. You may be right..
So this is their last remaining weapon... Trying to release as many evils as possible in the shortest period of time in order to make sure a few of them escape scrutiny. The trick is to not let the big ones, the ones that do the most long term damage get away from us.

3. AND, the method by which they finally notified the press
was with the ranch owner telephoning the Corpus Christi newspaper and giving the story to the reporter.

8. Remember: This guy's in ICU and still may NOT live ...
Gee, I wonder how they're going to spin that ... if he dies and they REALLY got some 'Splaining to do?

IMO "Very Stable" means "Barely Alive" in Bush-Speak. :P

We should all be DEMANDING a medical update from an "attending doctor" NOT an Corpus Christi Administration Crony?
