Meme O' the Day: "cabal of cronies" |
|
This phrase -- "cabal of cronies" -- which marries so naturally to the word Republican and the name Bush, has a certain memorable music about it.
"Cabal of cronies" is utilitarian. It can be tossed into virtually any discussion of what is going on in America.
Say it loud. Repeat it. Sing it. Make it a mantra.
"Cabal of cronies" possesses a certain up-and-down cadence that is akin to the classic left-right boxing combination to the Medulla Oblongata of whoever is listening or reading..
"Cabal of cronies."
It's got rhetorical elan.
Therefore, and without further BS, I nominate "cabal of cronies" as Meme O' the Day.

4. 20% might be a bit high. |

The average American isn't much on "read-only" words like "cabal" that aren't used in television programs or sports broadcasts.
