So... where was The MRS., anyway, when ole Dick went for an overnight at a 'friend's' place to... um... shoot some quail? Hmmm.. maybe like the saying goes: Two's company, Three's a... threesome? NOT. Mrs. Cheney was nowhere to be found. Check out the lovely Pamela Willeford, a longtime B*sh supporter, appointed to serve as ambassador to Switzerland, and quite coincidently, 'quail-hunting' at The Horned One's side.

So...Was the 3-hour time gap between shooting the poor old geezer and getting him checked into a hospital used to cover up the evidence of a TRYST... between Cheney and the lovely Ms. Willeford? And where was MR. Willeford? Hmmm... this requires further investigation... maybe the appointment of an independent council.

Texas education official Pamela Willeford received one of the world’s most coveted diplomatic posts when President Bush nominated her to serve as ambassador to Switzerland in July 2003. A longtime Bush family friend, Willeford replaced Mercer Reynolds III, who had stepped down to serve as finance chairman of Bush’s reelection campaign.

The posting to Bern was not the first honor Willeford had received from Bush. In 1995 then-Governor Bush appointed her to the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board, and two years later he elevated her to chairwoman. Willeford also serves as president of the Breckenridge-based Pico Drilling Co. She partnered with First Lady Laura Bush to begin the annual Texas Book Festival in 1996.

Willeford and her immediate family contributed a total of $23,200 to Republicans during the 2000, 2002 and 2004 election cycles, including $7,000 to the Bush campaigns and an additional $500 to the Bush-Cheney recount fund established after the 2000 election. According to the Houston Chronicle, Willeford has also been a “major contributor” to Bush’s gubernatorial inauguration celebrations and served as a co-chair of his 1999 gubernatorial inauguration committee.

The Medical Examiner report (still available at the New York City archive at 520 1st Ave.) states that Nelson Rockefeller died of a heart attack while he was having sexual intercourse. Pierce said that she arrived at Rockefeller's townhouse at about 11:15 p.m., called the emergency number to request an ambulance, and then left quickly to go back to her own apartment. The initial story from Rockefeller spokesmen indicated that the heart attack had occurred at 11:15 p.m., as an early attempt to avoid the scandal from breaking.

There has been speculation that up to two hours passed between the actual heart attack and the call for help, due to the need to "sanitize" the location before police photographers arrived. Various rumours abound. It is unclear (as some claim) whether Rockefeller was still alive when the ambulance arrived, and that he died in the ambulance on the way to the hospital.

A close personal friend of the first lady, who was present at her swearing in, Ambassador Willeford chaired the Texas Higher Education Coordinating Board for the last five years, served as a trustee of St. Andrews Episcopal School in Austin as well as being involved in numerous other civic organizations.
