6. Rasmussen
Their polls were right on during the 04 election. They seems pretty down the middle to me.

15. Even Gallup shows him far lower, and we know they're skewed!
And the 04 vote only matched the polls after 11pm when they 'adjusted' them.

19. Rass tends to push his polls in the repuke direction....
up until election day or the day before, then tightens things up and comes back closer to the concensus of the rest of the polls. Still a good source, if for nothing else, to get a really good picture on how repukes are framing things, by looking at the structure of his questions.

Out this far from any election, I wouldn't trust any single poll of his, but rather look @ long term trends...

8. Do you think?????!!!!

This idiot couldn't get a 49% approval rating right now if they'd limited the 'survey' to REPUBLICANS ONLY!!!!!!!

12. Definitely an outlier result
Republican Rasmussen must be doing what they can to compensate for that atypically low poll result from Gallup the other day.

13. I trust Fox News polls much more
Fox News polls tend to either be in tandem with all of the other polls, or maybe a point or two higher for Bush. The way in which Fox's anchors interpret the polls, however, is another matter. They spin bad polls for him, or just ignore bad polls all together, or just quietly dump them on an obscure corner of their website.

Rasmussen is not even on my radar screen. Never has been.

But please, by all means, if the Right wants to pretend like its still 2001 and delude themselves into thinking that George W. Bush is a popular wartime president, then I have better things to do.

21. Polls sponsored by Fox get a bad rep around here.
For obvious reasons.

But there is absolutely nothing wrong with Opinion Dynamics, the polling company that conducts their polls.

If anything, Opinion Dynamics skewed too far toward Democrats in 2004.

22. I heard that Fox's pollster, John Gorman, is a Democrat
The problem is not their polls, it's how the bobbleheads on Fox News SPIN the polls: playing up polls that are good for Bush, or ignoring or spinning polls that are bad for him.

14. You think???
Gallup at 39% Rassmussen at 49%. Somehow I don't think so.

Rassmussen has had a lot of polls skewing towards the Republicans lately.

17. Rasmussen's numbers are well above the average.
Check out this page for some comparison:

http://www.realclearpolitics.com/polls.html

I've noticed that Rasmussen always shows Bush's approval ratings at least 5 points higher than most other polls.

24. It is very easy to skew the poll numbers by how the question is worded.
A poll saying "should X get more funding" will get more yes votes then "should X get more funding if it requires a tax increase".

But they give too much support to Bush in his job approval. Has he ever been below 40% in Rasmussen?
