2. Aren't doctors supposed to immediately report shooting victims admitted to hospitals to the police?

what do you mean, how did he get shot in the face? imagine you are walking across the field from just retrieving your bird, and Dick has his back to you and you are walking towards him as he aims his gun at the horizon, and then he swing aroung to face you and you are staring down the barrel then BLAM.

Was the weapon confiscated, has it been requested? As per the form, the game warden is supposed to take it for evaluation where possible.

If the victim was wearing "blaze orange," why didn't VP see him? ("A couple of beers?")

Did Cheney ever get interviewed by the authorities? It looks as if the report was filed by the Secret Service.

After being stabilized at a hospital in Kingsville, Whittington was evacuated by helicopter to a larger facility in Corpus Christi — where he was placed in the intensive care unit. The Secret Service reported the shooting to the Kenedy County Sheriff's Office; no one from that agency interviewed Cheney until Sunday morning.

The Secret Service said it had turned away one sheriff's deputy at the ranch the night of the accident because arrangements had been made for Cheney to be interviewed the following morning, Associated Press said.
