Hunting accidents happen. Always have, always will. People are stupid, made more so by a combination of booze and guns. Big fucking DUH.

All they had to do was the right thing, and even we would have forgotten about it by now. So why the hell did their tiny brains freeze? Why the panic? Why the coverup? So unnecessary. So idiotic. This is one case of them screwing themselves over without a reason.

Kinda like everybody else in Washington these days. It's a real life microcosm of how they do everything- bass ackwards and without a moment's pause for thought about consequences.

Idiots.

1. one possible explanation is that NOTHING they said about what
happened is remotely near the truth.

3. My point exactly.

Him and his buddies were drinking, and somebody stumbled into his line of fire, and his finger twitched. As I said, it happens too often. All they had to do is SAY IT and it would have been dismissed as another typical republican moment of lunacy. But instead, they cover it up and all hell breaks loose.

They shoulda told the truth. It would have been a hell of a lot easier to understand, and he'd be in far less trouble than he is now.

2. Exactly.
It would have been ok even to just say "There's been an accident" and so on and so on but no, we don't even get that.

4. No it would not - he did not have the proper permits for one. The
story that they gave does not jive with the facts.

There has been no meaningful investigation by the police. Evidence has been removed and lost. (This is leaving the scene and tampering with a crime scene.)

Shooting someone, even by accident, is a crime.

The vice president has broken the law and is being given a free pass. Just like the rest of his corrupt and lawless administration.

5. Yep.
But in a post 9/11 world.... Oh shit I about got sucked into their tape loop.

All they had to do was just release the news. I don't go for all of the outlandish conspiracy theories. Unlike you I think that they spent 20+ hrs arguing about how to handle it. Then made the wrong choice. I think they're losing it.
