6. Hartford is Eastern time
this happened in Central time.

Everything I've read said 5:30 p.m. Of course, I'm sitting in Corpus Christi right now as I type this. I'm assuming local time.

12. Using approximate coordinates for Armstrong, TX
97.77 E and 27.12 N (just ballparking approximately where on HWY 77 the ranch is) you get the following on February 11:

Twi: 6:44pm
Sun Rise: 7:08am
Sun Set: 6:17pm
Twi: 6:41pm
Moon Rise: 4:37pm
Moon Set: 6:43am

I'm not sure of the exact location but I know its about maybe 7 miles south of the border patrol checkpoint on Hwy 77.

2. Anyone notice that the official version now has the shooting at 6:30?
I though sunset was at 6:18 on Saturday...which would have meant hunting would have been ILLEGAL. But I'm just an average citizen. What do I know about obeying laws?

8. They've pushed the timeline after the fact to bring it closer to the truth
...of their delay in transporting Whittington, and yet keep the shooting withing the legal cut-off.

Texas says you can hunt for up to (and no longer than) one-half hour after sunset.

Sunset that day was around 6:15 according to the almanac.

10. Husband, a hunter, keeps saying Cheney is digging in deeper.

He is really upset with how hunters are being portrayed. We have not bought any processed meat for the last 15 years. We are afraid of it.

Safety is number one. And he has called BS on every evolving story. Alcohol at the camp is a big no-no, at least, until after dusk when the guns are unloaded and put away for the night. Then, it is dinner, crib, and a drink.

BTW, the camp is composed of the guys, and one big-a** former Marine who would thump their heads if he caught anyone drinking between dawn and dusk.

11. I don't hunt quail (or anything), but have several broods(?) on my
place and that's when they come out to eat, at dusk.

13. Exactly. And some managed preserves feed the quail at exact times &places
...so that the quail come when they hear people, and the preserve owner has a schedule of where to go to shoot and when.

The hunting party went out at feing time, to where the quail expected food. Blam. Oooops.
