Sometimes I wish Malloy wasn't so astute...
I was hoping the Abramoff corruption will bring down these evil bastards...

But the DOJ investigator, Alice Fisher, is a Bush operative...

Fox and the hen house syndrome...

There are over 150 million people who want our democracy back and the remainder are taking it away from us.

I, personally, will fight to the death... (thats right agent Mike, I will fight).

1. Yes, he is making me
feel a little depressed about the whole thing. That doesn't stop me of course from keeping on them but it is pretty damned discouraging.

4. When those 150 million people get pissed off and start marching
in the streets, then maybe we can restore democracy.

But there are another 150 million who are just as happy the way things are going, as long as gays are not allowed to marry.

9. I love Malloy but he can be very negative
For example he said that is was a sure thing those miners were all dead. It turns out, twelve were found alive.

12. It is just that it is so hard to be positive after 5 years of..
evil, death and destruction.

No one in the USA can say ANYTHING good has transpired from this administration.

I am so glad those miners were rescued.

11. remember ENRON?

i heard NPR (the 'liberal' radio - lol) today trying to make it look like business as usual inside the beltway, dems and pukes involved, completely IGNORING the actual gist of the story and keeping their listeners in IGNORANCE for another day.

but i still have HOPE that us americans ain't that fucking STUPID!!!
they - the fucking crazies(rw wackos) via their M$MWs - got the echo chamber and the temporary power, true, but the fight has only just begun, bet! :bounce:

13. Fisher won't prosecute this case. She has an administrative position.
I don't know how effective she can be in controlling the prosecution, but Justice Dept. career prosecutors usually handle these cases. And the FBI was the investigative body here. With Fisher's ties to DeLay, it probably wouldn't be a smart move for her to impede the prosecution.

She may have been appointed to control this thing, but that was before Abramoff made a plea bargain and agreed to sing.

Nobody thought anything would come of the Plame investigation because Ashcroft was AG, but conflicts of interest can necessitate recusal. I'm certain that Patrick Leahy will be demanding her recusal from this case. But, since she's not a prosecutor and never has been, I don't know how much she could interfere before the career prosecutors would start howling to the NYTimes.
