Surprisingly, some DUers have never heard of Downing Street Memos |
|
Here's a link to help bring you up to speed on the memo and why it is important to most everything regarding the lead up to the invasion of Iraq. http://www.downingstreetmemo.com/2005/06/senator-kerry-co-demand-dsm.html

1. That's really hard to believe |
|
Nobody on DU could possibly not now about the DSMs. Unless they are really newbies or hardly ever spend time here.

member was unaware, then maybe it's time for a refresher on the DSM. Undergod knows the media doesn't educate the public at all.

14. I agree. We have to be the media. It is not going to suddenly do its job. |

|
What percentage of Planet Oblivious is likely aware of their existence?

11. It matters that those who haven't even heard of Downing Street Memos |
|
find it incumbent upon themselves to dispense political wisdom.

12. I don't think it does |
|
The DSM were just another flop in a series of flops, all of which were preceded by "They're going down this time!" Oh, for sure. Junky logic.
The DSM doesn't matter a whit, even if it was plastered across every billboard in America. Get a clue.

13. Most single issues don't matter very much, but all combined |
|
- and they are all about the same administration - it's pretty damning.
Of course, when no-one remembers because each single one doesn't make a difference, then none of it matters at all.

that warfare is not necessary.

19. Whenever WE perpetuate the corporate media spin then THEY win and truth is |
|
just a bit more lost.
Move on is what Clinton chose to do when he closed further investuigations of Bush1 while IranContra and BCCI were still SO IMPORTANT - had the books been opened on those two scandals, 9-11 wouldn't have happened and NO BUSH would have ever been allowed even NEAR the White House again.
No BushInc - No fascism.

I guess I'm not "authentic" enough! Yowza.
The issue is dead no matter how much it matters to DUers. That's the point, jack.
But by all means, shout about it to your heart's content. You'll get rolled eyes and quizzical looks, but have fun.

20. In My Opinion, No... You're Not. |
|
Anyone who would so steadfastly proclaim that an issue as important to our cause as the DSM's is a dead issue is hurting us not helping us.
And I don't need your permission to shout it at my heart's content but thanks for your approval. And don't feel alone in rolling your eyes, as I am rolling them right back. :eyes:
