NBC: War is Great! You should try some! |
Advertising for war during the Olympics makes me want to puke. NBC is disgusting and pathetic for running those ads. But I dont know which is worse, the fact I have to view the garbage or the fact the democrats aren't running a counter ad. War (to the McDonalds theme) Da da da da daaaaaaaa, I'm Lovin it!

1. O.K. some clarification might help here... |
Edited on Sun Feb-19-06 12:59 PM by vi5
I'm sure the ads aren't actually for war, so perhaps you could clarify as to what they ARE actually for so we could be on the lookout for them. Recruiting? A movie? A song? I know hyperbole is fun, and makes the internets go round, but some more specific information would be nice. I'm just trying to figure out if I happened to miss these commercials or if I'm misinterpreting something altogether.
Thanks in advance.

2. Sorry... the commercials come on and support the war in Iraq. |
They use veterans and they use the familys of veterans killed to restate the Bush position. Liberation, fight them there and not here, the troops all want to be there and finish the job. One even states that he's sure we'd be fighting in the streets of Anytown USA if we werent over there. It's awful. These Kool-Aid drinking idiots have even lost family to Bush's policies and they still support him and are used by his propaganda machine. It's pitiful.

3. Wow you'd think that would make major news |
Which means they are taking a hit in the pockets and ratings if this group can afford to advertise.

12. Don't be so hard on families who have lost children |
Each family wants to believe their child's life was not thrown away, I think the slimebags who prey upon them and convince them to appear in the ads should be suffering your derision. Just remember the suffering those families are going through... You last line is the most appropriate, they are to be pitied.

4. NBC's owned by a defense contractor, so, no surprise there. |
Still disgusting, of course, but not surprising.

6. Yep- no surprise- their management is sick and twisted |
and quite frankly, GE should be forced to divest itself of NBC- or straight up have its license yanked, or simple non-renewed.

8. Advertising for war support during the Olympic games? How |
hypocritical! It's an abomination. It's the antithesis of what the games stand for.
