CNN/MSNBC Coverage of "Take Over of Ports" is Great! BUT BEWARE!!
Edited on Tue Feb-21-06 07:12 PM by KoKo01
There's something here we don't know....a political PLAY that's going on...

Those of us on DU who have been "around the bend" for awhile know NOT to TRUST what the Mainstream Media feeds us.

So...I'm as EXCITED AS ALL OF YOUR ARE...but BEWARE...When you finished watching Dobbs and CNN and think that the "CHIMP IS DEAD" just be sure you keep on this story with your "Liberal/Dem" Sites... I imagine when this "sorts out" there will be much to read.

JUST BEWARE...READ AND LISTEN TO EVERYTHING WITH SCEPTICISM....BUSH is NOT going down over this...he will WORM his ways out....

But...It's GREAT TO SEE ...while it lasts ....isn't it... :applause: just BEWARE! :D

4. You gotta beware, this is just too blatantly stupid. But it is fun.
Rove would not underestimate the backlash this poorly. I don't think so.

11. I'm not sure about that...
Isn't bush still pimping his guest worker program? That one doesn't fly very well amongst his base either...

2. I'm always
wary when it comes to the corporate media. I had to watch the news tonight to see what they were saying about this and it wasn't pretty. I hardly ever watch cbs, but I can't figure out how this could be good for the regime. It completely shows the masses that they are incompetent at best, traitors at worst. I'm going with the worst.

5. My, but there are a lot of defeatists out today.
This is the equivalent of George shooting himself in the face with his own gun.

PBS is now explaining that we have LOTS of foreign port managers. Don't you feel fabulous about that?

Americans can't manage their own ports. Good to know.

This is an OUTRAGE.

17. Anything "too easy" means with these Thugs/Criminals...means ILLEGAL
and PAIN for Dems...down the road. The MSM who have slavered and drooled over Bush since 9/11 don't "Turn on a Dime" over a Dubai Port Deal.

There's something more here than meets the eye...

Tweety LOVES BUSH/CHENEY! There are hundreds of DU posts alone about Matthews admiring "Big Foot Cheney" (the man to get the job done) and "Codpiece Georgie" that Matthews couldn't wait to get into and get a "piece of the actions" for us DU'ers to "TAKE THE BAIT" and get "REELED IN?"

That's all I'm saying here....CAUTION! We don't know the whole Deal, here.

BUT...that they haven't shown any DEMOCRATS...is kind of a "tip off."

City port operator prefers new suitor
Associated Press
Originally published January 28, 2006
LONDON // British port operator Peninsular and Oriental Steam Navigation Co., which runs Baltimore's public terminals, switched prospective suitors for the second time after Dubai Ports World raised its offer for the company to almost $7 billion, trumping an offer from Singapore's PSA International Ltd.

News of the bidding war sent P&O's shares up almost 5 percent yesterday.

Founded in 1837, P&O carried cargoes throughout the former British empire. It currently has three divisions - ferries, ports and logistics.

The ports unit, P&O Ports, employs about 65 in Baltimore and is responsible for many of the unionized longshoreman hours. It predominantly handles containerized cargo for the state-owned port at Seagirt and Dundalk marine terminals.

8. Of course he will worm his way out
quite an astute observation, I think. But, this added to the lengthy laundry list already racked up by Bush et al, is, to me, one more nail in the proverbial coffin.

At least I can hope.

26. I had that "evil thought, too." Dubai will Pull Out to appease Repugs and
another "evil" will be installed and the story will go away as another "scandal Bush survived."

It's all too easy..what's going on with the Cable News. It's gotta be that UAE's pulls out like Harriet Meirs did and so Bush doesn't need to pull a veto and the Repugs look great for resisting him...and EVERYBODY IS HAPPY...HAPPY....HAPPY..

Something's up...and this one repeats his last "flub up" where instead of Miers we got "ALITO...the GREAT...with the sobbing wifey."

DUBAI pulls out...and CHIMP is seen as STRONG/CODPIECE...but he LISTENED TO HIS PARTY. :puke: But, might be more "true" than "tinfoil." Ugh...

16. Occam's Razor, folks.
The simplest explanation is likely the correct one. Interpreting this as some Machiavellian plot by Rove gives these guys waaaay too much credit. These are the same morAns that totally dicked up FEMA, among other things. Fact is, these guys aren't brilliant masterminds; they've proved over and over again that they couldn't piss a hole straight in the snow. The simple explanation, IMO, is the huge amount of money that can be made by companies with a financial interest in the port operations (with the incidental benefit of busting the longshoremen's union).

Money always trumps everything else with BushCo; the problem is that every time the Littlest President turns around he steps on his meat. So this is just another totally fucked-up attempt to sell the country down the river to further global corporatization. Nothing sneaky -- just greedy and stupid.

27. Agree to a certain extent with what you say... And, that Repugs out there
for the "first time" connecting the dots which go way back to 9/11 might be a good thing.

But, this Hydra will NOT go DOWN this EASTY...Just remember...many think they are FOOLS but they've stolen three ELECTIONS SO FAR...they've trashed our Constitution with the help of both Repugs AND DEMS...and they have RESOURCES that WE DON'T....So....BEWARE. This isn't over...

I would love to be wrong...but been at this since the Fake Clinton Impeachment...I know that their GAME is better than OURS....

20. Could Dubai be FUNDING OUR FAILING STOCK MARKET?
That's my :tinfoilhat: feeling. Dubai has been the "Plunge Protection Scheme" that's been shielding our Markets from bad news since Bush was "Selected."

We've all seen the Pix of Bush Kissing Up to Arab Emerites...Leaders, Diplomats, etc. Dubia is the "lesser of the Arab Evils" to many of our DU'ers...(one even lives there) BUT...it doesn't mean that Bush and his families EVIL EMPIRE doesn't have many contacts with UAE and that he isn't pressuring them in the background to PROP OUR MARKETS AND BANKS!!!

I know...maybe "tinfoil" but for us "oldie DU'ers" who have watched the US Markets for YEARS...something STINKS and it comes from the Middle East.

Just RENT Michael Moore's "9/11" and think about it now that much time has passed since the Elections. He pinned it down...and it hasn't changed for the Bush family...

We need to be VERY CAUTIOUS...

21. what's to stop them?
i know it's about 'politics' and so on, but why can't bush do as he wants, for whatever reason he wants? if he wanted to sell fort knox, he could do it if it was done CAREFULLY...i truly think that we are beyond the point where even a 90 percent disapproval rate would affect bush: street riots would, but all bush do then is buy time by firing some dupe and saying he hadn't realized (bush is such a ham!) what the ports deal entailed! and of course haliburton would get the deal instead! and those who were out front complaining or agitating would be quietly busted for child porn and drug dealing!
If the pigmedia are suddenly vegan liberals, it's because they are trying a new con. bush is a criminal because he and the men running the pigmedia plotted to steal the 2k election...for that, they should have fair trials and humane executions...the ports deal is just entertainment and it is buying bush time to try wiggle away from the fact becoming public knowlege he's a blatant criminal

it's a puzzle to all of us...I'm only urging caution and time....because they've fooled us Dems over and over when we think we are winning and they turn it back on our heads.

We are MUCH BETTER ORGANIZED NOW...that's why it's maybe good to not be thinking that the "tide will turn" on this ONE ISSUE....

Can you imagine if we get rid of Dick Devious and he ends up in charge of all the ports when he goes back to Hallibruton to collect his billions? For the life of the contract? Five years?

He put himself in as VP, he can take himself out and make us equally disgusted.

(I don't really mean he put himself in - the barons put him in.)
