Who Lost America? (gallup poll)
Edited on Sun Feb-26-06 03:50 PM by cal04
In the lowest levels recorded since the poll began in 2001, only 33% of Americans believe leaders of other countries respect Bush, compared to 63% who believe they don’t have much respect for him, according to a new Gallup poll.

"Further indicating America’s negative image in the world is the fact that only 43% of respondents are satisfied with the position of the United States in the world today, while 54% are dissatisfied. These numbers are worse than those seen in 1966 when America was at the height of the Cold War."

Polling Report has more data.

1. 33% respect him?
Are you freakin' kidding me? If anything, countries are afraid he'll bomb the shit out of them if they don't acquiesce to what he wants.

There has never been a moment in history before when America has been so reviled.

5. That One-Third of the Population is So Divorced From Reality...
That if the dam broke and their living room was filling with water after they'd just watched the news report on the TV (before the power went out), they'd just be sitting/floating in their recliners... still convinced it was just some kind of fake story intended to malign the character of their beloved Republican dam engineer.

7. 33% of Americans THINK that other countries respect him.
Which means, 33% of Americans are severely divorced from reality.

4. It's Gallup!
These folks haven't been credible sources for- well, I don't remember when they were. Maybe 25 years ago....

These folks skew their data and purposefully use faulty sampling procedures. It's kind of an open secret- and it's discussed in grad school statistics classes.

Gallup's out there to influence public opinion- not to measure it.
