Why Don't Dems Cheat Like The Repugs? |
|
I mean we have people with money, and smart/brilliant Dems that can crack any computer code, so, it the reason we don't cheat because we're more ethical, and damn the consequences? Just wondering.

1. Dems more ethical / less selfish / less bigoted |
|
I think most dems want to be fair to all people and their beliefs and wouldn't cheat fellow Americans out of a fair vote.

But since everything's rigged in THEIR favor, if we tried to steal elections, we sure as hell would be called on it, unlike THEM

6. because it's not who we are.......... |
|
....Democrats are generally more accepting of different kinds of people and we also like to be fair in all that we do.............at least that's how I look at it.
Whereas Republicans just want to win.........they don't care how they win or who they step on to get there so long as they do win in the end.
I think Democrats are more ethical than that.

8. They'd be following instead of leading. What they can do |
|
is use history in the same way the republicans do. Republicans love history, especially when it relates to Clinton's term. The democrats need to love history as much and refer to the Bush I (he who first loved, funded and then attacked Sadaam), Nixon (another illegal spyer), etc. I keep WAITING for someone to connect some historical dots but they just won't go there.

when it was Tammany Hall and the Chicago machine and when the Democrats were the stodgy, conservative party and the GOP were the wild eyed radical progressives out to break the power of the robber barons.

Johnson lied about the Gulf of Tolkien, and over 60 thousands Americans died, and hundreds of thousands of people in Viet Nam died also.
Dan Rostenkowski was indicted on corruption charges, for his key role in the Congressional Check Kiting Scandal, and was forced to step down from all Congressional leadership positions. Charges against Rostenkowski included keeping "ghost" employees on his payroll, using Congressional funds to buy gifts such as chairs and ashtrays for friends, and trading in officially purchased stamps for cash at the House post office. In 1996, he pleaded guilty to reduced charges of mail fraud. He was fined and was sentenced to 17 months in prison, of which he served 15.
Wilbur Mills served in the House of Representatives and was the chair of the powerful House Ways and Means Committee, a post he held longer than any other in American history. Mills was often termed "the most powerful man in Washington" during his tenure. He was one of the Democrats who signed "The Southern Manifesto" condeming the U.S. Supreme Court decision to desegretate the nation's public schools, "Brown V. Board of Education. This was signed by 96 Democrats from southern states.
The Japanese internment was done and approved under FDR.
I could go on, but it is important to recognize the fact that we have had our issues in the past
Currently the repukes have done quite a lot of damage to our democracy and our status in the world. The problem with the Democrats today is NOT corruption, BUT THE LACK OF ACTION. They have rubber-stamped practically everything that has been brought by this administration, and THAT IS UNFORGIVABLE.
Yes, there are prominent, and courageous democrats who did NOT give this administration a blank check, but for the last six years it has been dismal at best.
The biggest threat to our government today is the lack of checks and balances

12. Well, it's like the 9/11 hijackers |
|
Repukes get away with cheating because the media is focusing on the Dems . . .
When the ones who are likely to do something wrong realize that there is no longer anybody watching them, they feel free to do as they damn well please.
Repukes get to do whatever it takes, because the complacent media, at best, slaps them on the wrist. Dems start crossing the street on "Walk" and the sign starts flashing "Don't Walk", Repukes call the cops . . .
Until 2001, there was security forces keeping an eye on suspected terrorists (with reason) . . . but then they were pulled away to investigate Chandra Levy's disappearance, the missing "W" keys on White House keyboards, the presidential pardons by Clinton, etc . . .
