What three things would you like to see? How to win in 06'!!
1) AAR - I would like to see one f'in billboard (outside of New York City) promoting Air America Radio. I would even be willing to donate to my local area (Atlanta) to get one put up.

2) Katrina Anniversary Show on BET - A show of famous Democrats and Artists supporting Katrina relief, and getting out the vote to defeat Bush.

3) An Email blast showing why the UAE Port sale is such a bad deal. I'm tired of playing nice.

1. "They're worse than we are" will only be a temporary fix
I'm afraid the changes need to be a bit deeper than that to give people a reason to get up off the couch and go vote. Right now, the only people offering a battered working class any relief are the GOPs, and they're offering bait and switch tax cuts sweetened with a little dose of righteous hate.

The Dems need to wake up out of their yuppie stupor and realize the working folks who make up their base need a few things:
1) Work should PAY. Raise the minimum wage to provide a floor under all wages. The minimum wage should support one worker in decent housing with decent food and routine health care.
2) Work should be available. Stop the outsourcing of every job that isn't nailed down by mandatory face to face contact. Enact punitive tariffs on any company that outsources the work and expects the US to be the market.
3) Taxes should be FAIR. The people who get the most should pay the most.
4) Retirement should be secure. Take the OASDI overpayments out of the general fund NOW. Raise the cap on taxable income as soon as the overpayments are secured. JAIL any company CEO past or present who has presided over the looting of any pension plan and don't let them out until that plan is restored.
5) National health insurance to be administered by region. Nothing else makes sense.

If working folks saw stuff like that in a campaign platform, you bet they'd get out and vote.

2. billboards and t.v. ads with the quote
that **% of Americans are Democrats

**% are Republicans

**% of Democrats actually VOTE

**% or Republicans actually VOTE

therefore, by sitting home - you are giving up your representation
to those who are Wealthy or are Right-Wing extremists because they
get to the polling place.

If you don't participate - you lose your right to complain, and you hurt all of us.

What is that great Coretta Scott King quote - something to the effect of "if 10% more people just voted, the country would look a great deal different today"
