I'm SICK of the RNC playing in our shit. What whisper campaigns
should the DNC put out on McCain and other GOP 2k8 contenders?

GOP used their effin bullshit tactics to sideline both Dean and Clark.

They are now messing with Hillary. Whether or not you like her or hate her it should be our decision whether or not to nominate her. The GOP's whisper and MSM campaigns against her are affecting which candidates we put up.

Let's start some shit with the GOP hopefuls. What tactics should we take with them? What are some swift-boat ideas we can use on 2k6 and 2k8 candidates. Then we start our own MSM and whisper campaigns.

This means we DIG into their pasts. Dig deep. Dig hard. Find shit and air-it for the world to see.

10. We need to do this with every R running this year.
They are already showing signs of running away from the pResident.

Every vote, every speaking engagement, every photo-op, every fundraising op--get 'em out there and watch 'em squirm.

Even in my red state, 2 incumbents in iffy races are trying hard to shed the stink of W.

13. Every RNC candiate has a photo with Bush...we also need to find
those who have photos with Abramoff and run them side by side.
Who knows we may get both Bush and Abramoff @ the same functions with a candiate and be able to exploit the hell out of those photos.

GREAT.

McCain is a sell-out Bush-lover, for starters. That should be enough to do him in. Sadly I think his health is not good anyway. He has some very odd growths and very obvious surgeries in the last few years.

7. We can start with the truth about McCain.
Play his anti-America propaganda.

From Wikipedia:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/John_McCain#Vietnam

"McCain recorded an anti-American propaganda message, but said he did so as a result of torture. It is the period during his capture that he most regrets."

Why not, they would certainly do it to us. Shit, they made up stuff about Kerry.

12. This is GREAT. Plus it ties into his current knee-pad position with
Bush on this issue.

The most terrible time in his life and he is making it possible for it to occur to more American soldiers by staying silent and being complicit with the Bush regime on torture.

Why would he side with this administration and do their bidding knowing that their policies allow more soldiers to have to endure torture?

EFFIN BRILLIANT

their country deserves our respect, regardless what you think about their politics now. John McCain may be a George Bush suck-up, but he is not, IMO, anti-American. It was dirty tactics when they did it to John Kerry and I think it would be the same if we did it to John McCain.

Bush. I don't agree with his politics and I don't agree with many of his actions and I don't want him to be president. Having said that, I do respect John McCain for his military service to our country. Regardless what the Republicans did to John Kerry in the last election, I could not condone using the same tactics against McCain.

51. When John McCain spoke out against our country he had been
tortured. How many of us can truthfully say that we could withstand that sort of treatment and not say anything that our captors wanted us to say. I don't see that this is anything we could use against him without sounding petty and hateful.

I don't know if you were around then, but there was a song in 1970 by Joe South and the Believers. The chorus went:

Walk a mile in my shoes
Walk a mile in my shoes
And before you abuse
Criticise and accuse
Walk a mile in my shoes

Great advice.

The entire lyrics are here: http://ntl.matrix.com.br/pfilho/html/lyrics/w/walk_a_mile_in_my_shoes.txt

53. How the hell can we trust the man with the nuclear launch codes?
He'll have to face it. He cracked under pressure and he disgraced our country. Not everyone who was tortured cracked. I feel bad for him but being shot down twice and capitulating to the enemy doesn't impress me or guarantee a slot in the oval office. Also, he has a bad temper and might be a little crazy.

note: I don't necessarily agree with the above posts by me. I'm spitballin.

64. I don't want John McCain in the oval office. He might be a little
crazy, for all I know. I don't know what all happened to him in 5 1/2 years of captivity or what was done to him that made him crack. Nor do I know why he cracked when others didn't. He was deemed a high value prisoner due to his family background, maybe he received some high value torture.

I know men who served in Vietnam and most of the men who saw combat over there don't want to talk about it to this day. I think it made a lot of them a little crazy. I think there's a whole new generation serving in Iraq today that are going to be affected in the same way.

If it was wrong for the "swifties" to use John Kerry's service in Vietnam against him, it would be just as wrong for us to use John McCain's service against him. It was a shameful act by the Republicans and and it would be just as shameful for Democrats to act in the same manner.

I don't know if they intend on updating it for the next election, but it is a good place to start without having to read everything you google.

34. How about McCain's temper?
Isn't he supposed to have a really short fuse? That's not a good trait for a President to have, and I know I would think twice about voting for anyone - even one of our guys - if I thought he was the type to make crucial decisions in the heat of the moment, simply because his nose was out of joint at the time.

In fact, I think I'm going to start making it a point to bring up McCain's temper every time I talk to my family from now on. Just in case it becomes a talking point somewhere down the line.

61. George Allen (R-VA)
Good idea. I'm all for it.

Ignore George Allen at your own risk. He's squeaky clean and hiding in the shadows, right now. A former governor (he's got the executive experience) and a one-term Senator (so not a lot of excess baggage like a certain Senator who shall remain nameless carried into the last election), Allen's poised to pick up the social conservative vote without spending a dime.

----------

In a survey of 175 Washington insiders conducted by National Journal's "The Hotline" and released April 29, 2005, Allen was the frontrunner for the Republican nomination for the 2008 Presidential election.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/George_Allen_(politician)

George Allen is a politician to watch. He wears cowboy boots, he is tall and handsome, he doesn't take himself too seriously, he's a solid conservative, and he's putting together a tip-notch team.

For readers wondering why Sen. George Allen (R-Va.) is getting so much buzz as a potential 2008 presidential candidate, look no further than a recent fundraising invitation that found its way into The Fix's e-mail in-box.

Allen is holding a "Touchdown Reception" this Saturday in Detroit, the host of this year's Super Bowl. The host committee reads like a who's who of former NFL players and wealthy owners.

Go ahead and look (and please share if you can find anything.) This guy's the one we need to look out for.
