1. No, it isn't scary in the least.
Kind of refreshing actually.

2. Yes, it's about time something
united us. I've had long time dreams of the public uniting to get these thugs out of the government.

5. Exactly. The problem is, that too many people are...
...viewing the current "liberal" against "conservative" thing as some kind of a contest, or a sporting event like a football game. Some of us here at DU are ever bit as guilty of it as some of the freepers tend to be. What gets lost in the mix, is that we are all Americans, and all of us are SUPPOSED to have a say in what is happening here.

There is a very old trick, that those in power have used since civilization has had the "haves" and the "have-nots". If we are constantly reminded of our differences, we are so freakin' busy arguing among ourselves, or with those that we consider "the other side", that those who have pull all of the strings, and have all of the power, can keep those that don't from noticing how bad they are getting screwed.

It's a very simple principle, that just happens to work extremely well.

3. Generally never go there, but...
I have recently gone there to check their response to this whole port deal. I couldn't believe the rational discussions I saw. Rebellions against Limbaugh, total disappointment with Bush. I was very pleased.

Then I read a post on global warming and had a serious reality check. Yep, still crazy.

Well, ya take what you can get, I guess.

4. People are seeing through it...
After all the blindness... it's amazing to witness people seeing the light.

6. Some ideas are so batpoop stupid they transcend ideology.
If offering up major portals to the US to a government that has sworn to destroy one of our allies and has bankrolled and offered to terrorists that have actually attacked on our own soil isn't one of them, I can't imagine whatever could be.
