I am not counting anything yet.
Under normal circumstances yes they would be in deep descent but under normal circumstances none of this would have happened anyway.

Lies, scandals, acts of gross incompetence come and go, and 'Lican leaders still swear loyalty to Schimpanski and his gang of toads, and the bought-and-paid-for media continues to spin and spin.
I'm afraid they'll just keep accumulating disastes till Bushie is out of office, and pass the burden on to the winner (or selectee) in 2008.

As in, yes I think they are NOT crashing and burning.
I guess it depends on what you mean by crash and burn - as far as public opinion, obviously they are.
But as far as getting their corrupt, illegal agenda fulfilled for the rest of their term, I don't see anyone stopping them, given that they haven't stopped them yet. If the Dems win back Congress in 2006? Well, time will tell if they win, and more time will tell if they actually try to impeach or even censure. I am not convinced of either...

11. Only in one sense, no, they are not... |
|
That sense is that no matter how big a mess Junior gets into,he always leaves it for somebody else to clean up. He'll be gone in three years. All he has to do is survive for three more years without getting impeached and no matter how big a mess he leaves, somebody else will have to deal with it.
One more troublsome thing: Junior is heading into his favorite season: ELECTION SEASON. He does nothing so well as campaign. That's all he knows how to do. That's all KKKarl knows how to do. He's going to be energized and excited because he's going to be doing what he does best: LIE SMEAR EQUIVOCATE GLAD-HAND PAT ON THE BACK AND FLATTER. He's frat president material to this day.
So to that extent...NOTHING you listed above matters...as long as he isn't being impeached, he's in hog heaven.

14. But will they be able to "stage manage" his campaign appearances |
|
as well as they have in the past? I think the truth is seeping in and they may have more hecklers and/or people simply not clapping at his "rallies." Also, how many Repugs are going to want him to appear for them if his poll numbers stay this low? The news may be how many candidates DON'T want him stumping for them.
You're right that he isn't crashing and burning -- YET. But I think the election season may seal his fate rather than improve it.

There are Republican administrations out there that wish they could have the Bush Administration's successes. They're bulls in a china shop, breaking everything they touch and nobody will be able to stop them until the shop is totaled.
What consequences will they pay? Do you think that white America has the resolve to put an orange jumpsuit on Cheney and Bush? Not a chance.

The attention span of the press is only a day or two, if that. They easily succumb to a new shiny story and will drop national policy news at the slightest provocation. Especially if it has blond hair and boobs.
The American population is also to distracted trying to put food on the table, gas in the car, and worried about terra to really focus on what dumbo and his cronies are doing to the country.
I am amazed that 34% of the population of this country are still happy with dumbo. This to me signals that they have little awareness of the magnitude of the swindle that has been perpetrated on the country.
It is also amazing to me, the dumbo and his sad crew of cronies are allowing the UAE (not even, a nationalized corporate entity in UAE) to dictate national policy in the USA.
Dumbo and his cronies are outsourcing the country. Army for hire.

I think the public is sick and tired of being sick and tired.
In otehr words, Bush and the GOP are crashing and burning, but the danger is that it won't result in a massive push for change reform, but of increased cynicism and tuning out of public life. Which will simply mean that things go chugging along the same destructive course while a resentful population looks away.
I hope that's not the case. But if we are to avoid that, our side had better get into high gear and do some meaningful things to win over the disillusioned and aliented and show that it doesn;t have to be that way.

this WH has most of the rethugs and some of the democrats controlled like trained seals. All the WH has to do is throw them a 'piece of something' and they will flip flop and go along with whatever they are told to do. The WH position can be absurd, irrational, a complete fabrication, unwarranted, inhumane, disastrous and even unthinkable. The trained congressional seals may start reeling in one direction only to snap to attention and go along with their masters desires, even if they know that the WH position is completely wrong for this country or will have dire consequences going forward.

All of the points that you listed would have gotten any other president impeached, including St. Reagan. The bush administration has been exponentially worse than anything ever seen in this country-so why are they still here?
Also, if they are getting ready to crash, I am afraid that it may be too late. Part of me thinks the whole point of the administration was to loot every bit of the treasury. Now Bush and all his friends have all our money, so what's to stop them from selling off everything else and retiring to Fiji? If they leave the country so bankrupt that it doesn't even function, they'd never be extradited back, and they're busy offshoring all their money as it is.

are the real eye-openers for a lot of diehard Rw's, but the media is really in control...like an implanted mind chip in all the sheeple. It's scary to think about it, that no matter what they do, they can still get away with it. The Bushies have changed America so much, it's hard to recognize us anymore...but I digress... what bothers me about plunging polls, and how bad things are going, is that it sets up a perfect environment for another 911 or worse, and of course they'll do it to us again, anything to create the third reich! It makes me wonder about Bush's plan to be in India. Why is going to be out of the country now? I think there is a chance we will be hit again by alcia-da! Prez can't be in the country then!

26. Yes, and that's exactly why the port deal scares me so |
|
It's like they are advertising how they are planning on ignoring the run up to the next 9/11 and "we" are afraid of being called racist. Welcome to the next lifetime of war, pray you don't have any children because there will be a draft. And by the time the truth comes out that it had something to do with some inside job at some port connected to UAE-it will be too late. But maybe I'm wrong! Maybe they are safe! Maybe we are winnning the war on terror! Iraq will turn around any minute! The Democrats will get enough votes! and the Republicans won't sell their soul for cash!
I predict the patriot act passes. Port deal passes. And Iraq has a worsening civil war. I predict Bush's approval goes further down the tubes. I predict the Republicans will be on the verge of being voted out in Congress. Fitzgerald will never indict the real culprits-Cheney and Rove because he doesn't have enough time. He's too slow and methodical. We need it now. Not next year. What does that call for ladies and gentlemen? A Pearl Harbor 3. Maybe I'm wrong! Maybe they aren't even that evil! But I know and you do too-they are THAT incompetent and certainly greedy enough to sell our country to the highest bidder.

And I don't see it yet. Plamegate? The case may be on shaky ground if the judge orders Fitz to give up Libby's records. Dick Cheney? Over. That's so yesterday (in the collective minds of the sheeple). What about NSA? That story has apparently ended happily for the admin. After all, the NSA is still illegally spying on us. The ports? Good deflection for the NSA scam. ANd when the port thing gets too hot, they will manufacture another crisis to occupy our little minds for awhile. I'll believe it when fair elections take place.

35. I think the Bushies are in the process of co-opting our '06 MidTerms |

the "Appearance of Imploding" ignores the subtlety of how they've "managed us Dems..so far."
I don't hold out the hope that you do with this One Week Wonder of Dobbs and Blitzer suddenly doing a "turn around."
This is going to be a long, hard battle and our Dems are just playing it "SAFE" like they did in the last two elections.
So...NO!...I've been "HAD" by these folks and the "Media Whores" too many times to do the "Stick a fork in him...he's done" routine.
Instead my RADAR is on HIGH ALERT.
But, I commend you for your hope in things that are Past and Gone...here in America. I no longer have your optimism or hope...because I've seen how they "RUN" our Dems and undermine those working for Verified Paper Ballots and Fair and Free Elections to get caught up in some "Bush is Going Down" crap.
 I think that those on the left who marched in MILLIONS against Iraq Invasion and supported Michael Moore and Cindy Sheehan and all the Writers and Whistle Blowers who have come out against this administration deserve more than a few Righty Pundits and one PNAC'er (Fukiyama) suddenly turning on the Chimp (or isn't it "appearing to turn" on the Chimp)
No...we need MAJOR REFORM...this crap on the Right isn't going to do it. It only tosses some "chewed bones" to those of us who are Dems who have been FIGHTING since 2000! It's too little...too late.
The battle is not even begun to be won....it's still in the first skirmishes. :-(
