How did I miss it? A National Guard bust of King George???
A friend told me it was in the papers and on DU a few days ago and I thought he was kidding. Could someone please post a picture of it? If this is real, the term "insanity" requires a new definition.

I wasn't in the Guard (but I was stupid enough to get drafted). If this bust exists, it dishonors anyone who ever wore the uniform of any branch of our services.

And it's just one of those things for which the only appropriate adjective is "Hitleresque"...

Hmmmm, maybe the 2001-BLANK inscription is in case he gets impeached and removed from office before his term is up.

9. I bet Pinhead** just sits backs and laughs at all the people he
makes fools out of for believing in him, believing that he cares about them. As he said, he's a media creation and couldn't get elected to office. Well the media and his corrupt corporate buds took care of him and he's spent the last five years fleecing the morans who have been duped. I bet he sits around and has a great laugh at their expense. :spank:

14. The very existence of this monstrosity could bring on the wrath of Odin.
Then again, a straw inserted into the nose could restore some sense of reality.

16. Yeah. I'd be looking for a place to take cover from lightning
strikes, the earth opening up in a yawning chasm, a freak wind blowing everything in it's path into oblivion . . . something like that. Surely that kind of mindless hypocrisy needs to be punished by the gods.

15. "Real headline or straight from 'The Onion'"?
Stephanie Miller brought this up on her show last week, I think. She said she's thinking of starting a regular segment based on everything that's happened recently. This particular news item caused me to erupt in laughter at my desk when I heard it - thankfully, noone else was in my lab at the time!

17. In a word: "Ozymandias".
In 14 lines:
I met a traveller from an antique land
Who said:—Two vast and trunkless legs of stone
Stand in the desert. Near them on the sand,
Half sunk, a shatter'd visage lies, whose frown
And wrinkled lip and sneer of cold command
Tell that its sculptor well those passions read
Which yet survive, stamp'd on these lifeless things,
The hand that mock'd them and the heart that fed.
And on the pedestal these words appear:
"My name is Ozymandias, king of kings:
Look on my works, ye mighty, and despair!"
Nothing beside remains: round the decay
Of that colossal wreck, boundless and bare,
The lone and level sands stretch far away.
