3. Therefore if CBS was SOOO sure that Sirius' stock was going to go
down, could they not be sued for insider trading?

This is a witch hunt, driven by sour grapes.

Stern is scum, but CBS is disingenuous at best. They knew he was
leaving for months. The suit is ridiculous on its face.

9. You may feel that "Stern is scum"
But he is the only one in msm that is doing anything to stop the fundie toadies from taking the media back to Mayberry. If you don't like him, don't listen , but the man has more guts and has made smarter moves than anyone else.

11. Honey, I KNOW he is scum. But, CBS is wrong on this one. And sneaky.
They could have done this months ago. They waited until Stern collected his windfall, then went after his money. Very transparent. Perhaps they are hoping for an out of court settlement.

sat deal for some time previous to leaving, maybe not by name but he would, saying all the snide, howard-esque stuff about his then-current bosses being underhanded to him and his product, owing him money yada-yada; i wish him well = never bothered me, i'm all about free speech, but i can see where with a room full of 3-piece suited attorneys they could come up with their contention.

6. That's bullshit--
They can't sue someone for letting his listeners and fans know where he was going. Given that it wasn't a public radio station, it's being sensitive to his fan base to inform them they would have to get Sirius if they wanted to continue listening to him.

As others here have said, sounds like sourgrapes on the part of CBS. If they didn't fall the the complaints of the right so much, maybe their stock wouldn't be slipping...

8. The first question the defence attorney will ask CBS is, "Did you tell him
to stop doing whatever you didn't want him to do? If you did, prove it.

If he kept doing it after you told him to, then you should have taken him off the air.

Period.

They control the air, not Howard.

I think he's a pig, but, so's CBS.

On air talent can't go on air if these kinds of suits succeed. If it does, no one will be able to go on air without approved scripts.

Those CEO's are going to be quite busy proofreading every word spoken on air. How will they enjoy their vacation boats/homes???????

10. CBS was so pissed
at Howard for shilling for Sirius, that they gave him 20 primetime minutes on 60 minutes to
non-stop shill for Sirius.

Kinda defeats their lawsuits wisdom eh?
